Trigger Warning: This article contains discussions of domestic violence.
The news out of the Vanderpump Rules camp keeps getting more disturbing. Last week, James Kennedy was arrested on domestic violence charges. The DJ has been problematic in the series since his appearance in Season 3. It was then that fans watched his relationship with Kristen Doute play out and turn toxic. Now more details are being released about his recent arrest, and the information can be triggering.
James Kennedy’s arrest logs speak volumes
The police report via Reality Blurb showed James’ name printed at the top. The documents also shared the police statement, which noted that he saw a “male and female inside of a residence.” The arrest log shows the “Female stated that her boyfriend lifted her up and threw her to the ground” and confirmed that the arrest charge was “domestic battery upon spouse/co-habitant.” As Vanderpump Rules fans are well aware, Ally Lewber, James’ girlfriend, shares a home in Burbank with him. The arrest log also had some of James’ personal details. It showed his birthday, eye color, height, and weight.
The arrest occurred on December 11 at 11:50 p.m. after an appearance at Kathy Hilton’s party. A source shared, “James was running through the party, causing a scene.” The insider added, “His guy friend was chasing him from Kathy’s basement all the way throughout Kathy’s backyard, and James looked mad while running away. The guy who was chasing him almost fell into the pool and dropped a lantern in the pool causing a huge scene. Everyone was wondering what was going on.”
James Kennedy speaks out
It was a neighbor who called the police on the astrologer and DJ. James was spotted for the first time since the incident at his home. He was seen answering the door to Uber Eats in his See You Next Tuesday sweatshirt. James’ lawyers spoke out via People, noting, “We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into the allegations levied by the Burbank Police Department against James.” His council continued, “We understand that there were no injuries, and we are hoping that, after careful review, the city’s attorneys will decide not to file formal charges. The investigation determined it was a domestic incident, leading to Kennedy’s arrest.”
The spokesman added James was booked for misdemeanor domestic violence and later posted bail. Formal charges are pending review by the Burbank City Attorney’s office.” According to TMZ, James was acting odd before the arrest, sharing, “He was acting so erratic, running back and forth to the bar and body-checking people along the way. He appeared inebriated. Spent the evening mostly alone, but when he did speak to people, he appeared irritated and rude.”
James Kennedy’s exes have called him out before
Kristen and Rachel Leviss have been speaking out about their issues with James for years. Vanderpump Rules viewers will recall that during an argument, James once spit on Kristen’s apartment door. Over the seasons, James also fat-shamed Katie Maloney. When the news broke, Kristen simply posted an Instagram Story that read, “Finally.” Rachel was the next to speak out on the matter. She dated James for five years and was engaged before finally calling it quits. The former model dove a bit deeper than Kristen’s one-word retort. She posted a clip of her podcast episode, Rachel Goes Rogue, which was entitled Bad at Love.
The reality TV star shared, “The amount of times I convinced myself that the abuse I endured by James Kennedy Georgiou was a ‘misunderstanding’ is sickening.’” Perhaps more disturbing was Rachel’s response via her lawyers. They told People, “We are aware of James Kennedy’s recent arrest for domestic violence. This news is, unfortunately, not surprising. Rachel’s lawsuit describes, in significant detail, Mr. Kennedy’s long history of erratic, violent behavior and substance abuse.” Rachel’s council continued, “Just as troubling, however, is that NBC and Evolution, who have known about Mr. Kennedy’s troubling behavior all along, have been engaged in a multi-year cover-up on his behalf. They, too, bear responsibility.”
Rachel has had to speak about her relationship with James for her lawsuit against Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix. In the legal documents, it reads James was “a DJ prone to violent outbursts and grappling with long-standing substance abuse issues and emotional dysregulation.”
