Vanderpump Rules fans learned in late November that the show was being rebooted. All of the current cast was cut loose, which wasn’t a huge shock. I think the prolonged “pause” for the show was a big hint. Plus, with the cast so fractured, there was no way to move forward. So, what does that mean for Lisa Vanderpump and her two partners in TomTom, Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval?
Lisa Vanderpump thinks that the “TomTom brand” is still viable
Right before the big news about the Pump Rules, Schwartz shared the news via Instagram that his bar with Sandoval, Schwartz & Sandys, was closing. “There’s no easy way to say this, but after careful consideration, Greg, Tom, and I made the decision to close Schwartz & Sandy’s by the end of the year,” Schwartz wrote. Of course, the bar was hurt by Sandoval’s escapades, since dubbed Scandoval. Cheating with Rachel Leviss while still dating longtime girlfriend Ariana Madix had a ripple effect. For a while, Sandoval was banned from Schwartz & Sandy’s.
Of course, Lisa sympathized with the Toms about the end of their dream. “I’m very sad to see Schwartz & Sandy’s close because that was such a struggle,” Lisa stated, “and it was a very difficult time to start a restaurant business.” Plus, with VPR starting fresh with Lisa and a new cast of SURvers, it was a double whammy for Sandoval and Schwartz. Thank heavens Sandoval has his band to help him stay afloat.
In 2018, Lisa, Sandoval, and Schwartz opened TomTom. Recently, she addressed whether Schwartz and Sandoval would still be involved in that business venture. “I love them dearly, and especially Schwartz I’m very close to, so yeah, I think there’s still room to grow the TomTom brand and be smart about it,” Lisa told Entertainment Tonight. “There’s a lot of cache.” However, the restaurateur clarified that Sandoval and Schwartz own “two and a half percent” of the bar. Still, I will never forget watching Sandoval and Schwartz ride up to the opening of TomTom. Sandoval was riding on a motorcycle, and Schwartz was stuck in the sidecar.
