Trigger Warning: This article contains discussions of domestic violence.
Just like Tammy Wynette, Vanderpump Rules alum Ally Lewber is choosing to “stand by [her] man,” despite his domestic violence arrest. James Kennedy and his astrologer girlfriend have been together nearly three years. She’s surely witnessed his mercurial mood swings on several occasions by now. But this felt different.
On December 10, the couple got into an argument after returning home from Kathy Hilton’s celebrity-packed annual Christmas party. As the volume increased, a concerned neighbor “overreacted” and called 911.
Over the weekend, a report suggested Ally would be standing by her man.
Ally Lewber and James Kennedy reportedly had a “misunderstanding”
On December 12, news broke of James’ arrest for misdemeanor domestic violence. Burbank Police went to their home after receiving a call about a loud argument between a man and a woman. Sources described seeing James allegedly grab the woman during the disagreement, though officers didn’t report any visible injuries.
The following evening, Ally attended an event for Windsor’s New Year’s Eve celebration at Short Stories Hotel in Los Angeles. Sources at that event told TMZ that Ally seemed to be in good spirits and didn’t mention anything about her boyfriend’s arrest the night before.
James and Ally have been dating since January 2022. They met just six weeks following the end of his engagement to Rachel “Raquel” Leviss in December 2021. They moved into their home in Burbank in June 2023.
In addition to his growing career as a DJ, James is infamous for his explosive temper. Viewers have seen his volatile behavior over the years with both exes, Kristen Doute and Rachel. Apparently, things haven’t changed with Ally, even though he frequently calls her “the love of my life.”
James’ counsel, Scott Leemon, told TMZ that his team is “in the process of conducting our own investigation into the allegations.”
“We understand that there were no injuries,” the attorney said. “We are hoping that, after careful review, the city’s attorneys will decide not to file formal charges.”
The National Domestic Violence Hotline can be accessed via the nationwide number 1−800−799−SAFE(7233) or TTY 1−800−787−3224 or (206) 518-9361 (Video Phone Only for Deaf Callers). The Hotline provides service referrals to agencies in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
