Captain Jason Chambers Reveals Melanoma Health Scare: ‘I Thought I Was Resistant’

Captain Jason Chambers is hot. The sun agrees, as its rays have been working overtime on the beautiful layers of his skin. However, Captain Hottie has just experienced a melanoma scare. Thankfully, this Below Deck Down Under star will do better moving forward now that he has grasped how no one is resistant to skin cancer.

Wear your sunscreen, fam. Melanoma is a serious condition. So, Captain Jason, if you need extra hands to help you oil and lotion your skin away from any additional scares, you know where you can find us.

Melanoma can affect anyone, as Captain Jason Chambers now realizes

On Monday, December 16, Captain Jason appeared on Instagram, revealing that a recent biopsy was confirmed to be melanoma. In his statement, he wrote that “early detection is the key.” Until his results return, this “anxious” wheelhouse-wet dream must sit around and wait. Personally speaking, this wait is one of the longest ones ever, so my heart goes out to this man.

In his video, Captain Jason spoke about how his diagnosis came to be. “I’m in Australia, and that [test] was done in Bali. The Australian doctors here weren’t happy with what the indications told them to go to stage 2, which would be to cut out a bigger section and test the glands. So I’m waiting for the specimen to come from Bali, so it’ll be here this week, but I may not get it till after Christmas,” he explained.

He then pleaded with his fans and followers to learn a lesson from his experience. “Two out of three people suffer from melanoma. It’s a big thing. We’ve got a heatwave coming this summer, so make sure you put a hat on,” Captain Jason urged.

Unfortunately, Captain Jason never used to wear sunscreen. Thankfully, his stance has changed. “Make sure you throw on some sunscreen, get some shade, and cover yourself up,” he ends, as this Florida-based, sun-loving writer nods, agreeing with his newly found truths.

Now, get back on our screens, Oh Captain, our Captain.
