For the first two seasons of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Camille Grammer proudly held her diamond high. She was a menace but delivered scene after scene when it came to entertainment value. She single-handedly gave viewers the dinner party from hell where her medium friend correctly predicted Kyle Richards would end up alone. But she slowly faded into the Bravo vault after Season 4 and has only sporadically been seen on the series. Last night, Camille came back with a vengeance, giving fans a moment to wonder if she should return. The answer was a resounding no.
Camille Grammer was ready for her close-up moment
I couldn’t help but feel that Camille was sitting and waiting for the right moment to jab at her arch-enemy. Sutton Stracke had just gotten through with telling Dorit Kemsley, “You’re angry, and you’re not angry at me. You’re angry at your life. Don’t take it out on me. It is not my fault that you are in the position that you’re in.” The Beverly Beach founder clapped back, telling the Georgia peach, “I’m being open, honest, truthful, and transparent. My life sucks right now. I am not in a good place at all, and I have zero tolerance for more bullsh*t. It’s as simple as that. How’s that for transparent and honest and open?”
This was the moment Camille took it upon herself to scoff at Dorit’s piddly-ass problems. That was the former RHOBH star’s first mistake. Dorit let it rip as she tore Camille a new one. In a dramatic monologue, the dancer shared, “Years ago, my house burnt down. I lost my house. I lost my assistant of many, many years, and I didn’t get a lot of compassion or empathy from some — especially Dorit,” she said.
Camille Grammer has lost her edge
Without missing a beat or letting Camille get one more word in, Dorit noted, “Honey, you were a total c*nt to me.” The Camille of younger years would have known exactly how to hit back against Dorit. Instead, she looked like a deer in the headlights. Dorit continued referencing an iconic RHOBH Season 8 moment: “You were a total c*nt to me. I called you a stupid c*nt. Not a f*cking c*nt. I did it as a joke.”
It was clear that Camille had been harboring a grudge as Dorit noted, “I said, ‘You’re a stupid c*nt,’ as a joke. You know I did. You always knew it, Camille.” I didn’t know it could get any better than seeing Dorit unleash on Kyle Richards. But now I see it could get better, and did the moment she turned on Camille. Dorit then shared, “Once upon a time, I regretted calling Camille a c*nt. Now, I feel like Camille’s a stupid f*ckng c*nt.” I love the venom in this one!
Camille Grammer’s cameos are confusing
This isn’t the first time Camille has made a cameo on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in recent years. In Season 13, Camille and Denise Richards show up at Kyle’s dinner party. It wasn’t missed that in the most recent episode, Camille forgot Erika Jayne’s name. Personally, I’d like to see more Camille, but I need the network to make a solid decision instead of stringing fans along. If they want Camille to do what she does best, they need to bring her back, at the very least, as a ‘friend of.’
However, Camille’s appearance felt awkward, mainly because she was no longer close to most of the cast members. The only person she still keeps in contact with is Kyle, and even that friendship feels strained. Upon arrival, Camille tried to comfort Kyle by insinuating that their divorces were very similar. However, that just isn’t the case. Camille’s quick cameo felt out of place and was frankly jarring to viewers. The only reason Bravo should even think about handing out a diamond is because she can do what she does best. The 90210’s evil queen can dig out the skeletons in the lady’s massive closets. And the fact is she garnered a true emotional outburst from Dorit that will become an epic scene for the vault.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills returns Tuesday, January 7 at 8/7c on Bravo.
