Erin Lichy is dipping her toe in a reality TV conflict unrelated to her own. The Real Housewives of New York star is coming to the defense of Scott Disick after Kristin Cavallari called his text message last month to her “manipulative.”
This is a drama that crosses three reality TV heavy-hitters. Scott is known from The Kardashians and his prior relationship with Kourtney Kardashian. He and Kristin were friends, the latter having her big break on Laguna Beach. She went on to further projects such as The Hills and Very Cavallari. Now, the RHONY star is adding her two cents about Scott, who Erin said she knows very well.
Erin Lichy defended Scott Disick as a “nice person reaching out”
Erin explained in an uploaded TikTok. She decried Kristin’s prior comments questioning his motives for reaching out via text message.
“I’m feeling like I need to weigh in a little bit. Like it’s bothering me. I actually grew up pretty good friends with Scott. We were in the same group. Especially in the Hamptons,” the RHONY star explained.
She continued, “He’s a great guy. Like he’s not a bad person. Based on what [Kristen] was reading, I’m so confused how that’s manipulative. Like it sounds like a nice person reaching out.”
Erin insisted that Scott just “wanted to be friendly again.” She defended his character, saying losing both parents in his early 30s was challenging for him.
“The guy went through a lot. He’s not a bad person,” she concluded.
Kristin denied ever having a romance with Scott
Kristin read the text she received from Scott on air during her Let’s Be Honest podcast.
“Hey!!! It’s been such a long time, it’s crazy. Kind of crazy how our lives ended up being kind of similar,” The Hills alum read. “I feel like it would be so good to see you. And catch up and talk about the things you’ve got to go through with kids and changing your life around over and over. I really miss you though and wish I would have reached out earlier just been busy trying to be the best dad I can be. I don’t have time for much but trying to think about myself a little bit again. Trying, anyway. Hope to hear from you. Just text me so it’s easier to chat.”
Kristin stated her belief that the message was “classic textbook manipulation control [expletive].”
The reality TV veteran denied prior rumors of a romance between herself and Scott. Kristin believes that he started whispers of a fling when they spent time together in Las Vegas in 2011. He and Kourtney were separated at the time, and the rumors destroyed Kristin and Kourtney’s prior friendship.
“I know for a fact [he did this] to piss off Kourtney. A lot of times when a girl sees that a guy has moved on, they’re like, ‘I want him back.’ … And it worked. They got back together,” Kristin concluded.
