Denise Richards’ Daughters Were ‘Afraid’ for Mom After Special Forces Announcement

In previous seasons of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, we’ve watched some of our favorite stars get bloodied, bruised, and set ablaze, all for the sake of reality TV and bragging rights. So when Denise Richards told her kids that she’d be participating in Season 3, they were understandably a little concerned.

Of course, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum has taken on risky and risqué projects in the past. However, she said that Special Forces was the first time that her daughters were genuinely “upset.”

Why Denise Richards’ daughters didn’t approve of Special Forces

Denise spoke to People about her family’s reaction to joining the competition reality series. She could barely survive RHOBH, so her daughters, Sami, Lola, and Eloise, were scared to death to see their mom participate in the military-style challenges of Special Forces.

“My daughters were very upset,” Denise told the outlet. “They did not want me to do it. They were afraid I was going to get hurt or get killed, and they were actually really angry. It was the first time of all the times I’ve done different projects or traveled they were very upset with me.”

Obviously, those concerns didn’t stop Denise from signing on the dotted line. She’ll be joined by other reality stars like Trista Sutter and Brody Jenner to compete in challenges that will push them to their breaking point. There’s no prize. It’s just about putting yourself through the challenge.

“I thought, ‘This is the most challenging thing I’ll ever do, and why not do it?’” Denise recalled. “I was terrified, but once I made the commitment to do it, I was there.”

Something else Denise has committed to, which her daughters are on board with, is their upcoming reality show Denise Richards and the Wild Things. The upcoming E! series will have no military-style training, and Denise said her daughters are thrilled. Stay tuned for more Denise!

Season 3 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test kicks off with a two-hour premiere on Wednesday, January 8 8/7c on Fox.
