PK Kemsley Rejects Dorit’s Bankruptcy Support Claims: ‘Not Exactly True’

There are two sides to this story. Dorit Kemsley and PK Kemsley announced their split in May 2024 via an Instagram post. There was relative quiet on the matter publicly. But since the new season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premiered, viewers are getting some insight into what broke the former couple apart.

As public breakups go, often it’s the case that the pair present a united front at first. There’s the mutual announcement of separation, a lull for some time. And then matters either remain civil or start to go downhill. In the case of Dorit and PK, they maintain an atmosphere of respect towards one another but are now sharing conflicting statements about the cracks in their marriage.

PK Kemsely calls Dorit’s statements about their separation “an unusual concept”

The talent agent recently spoke to Bravo’s Hot Mic Podcast to respond to some of the statements Dorit made during the RHOBH season.

PK told Bravo producer Alex Baskin that he “struggled” to absorb what his estranged wife said of him while filming.

“You know, I never thought that us two, who were the tightest couple in the f—ing world, would ever be in a position where I’m watching this woman I love — the mother of my kids — talking negatively about me on a TV show,” he said. “It’s just an unusual concept.”

PK added, “I’m just sad to watch it.”

During a RHOBH confessional, Dorit said she supported her estranged husband through, “a bunch of public scrutiny” that had to do with finances. Also, the fashionista felt that PK abandoned the nine-year marriage after starting a recent sobriety journey. At the time of this interview, he was about to celebrate one year sober.

“Dorit spoke of bankruptcies, gambling debts, D.U.I.s, and that she stood by me,” PK explained. “I mean, it’s not exactly true.”

He went on to argue that Dorit entered his life after the bankruptcy and gambling debts occurred. PK’s financial issues were the result of the 2009 “credit crunch”. And that he had “recovered from all of the things” “well before” they were a couple.

“I haven’t gambled since 2008; I don’t drink,” he said. “All of that was past, past history.”

“But the point is, when someone you love, Dorit, is on TV talking about the darkest times in my life and suggesting that she held my hand through them,” PK continued. “It’s difficult to watch sometimes, particularly when she wasn’t with me when it happened.”

But PK is not completely scrutinizing Dorit’s statements. He understands that she was “emotionally distraught” and “unhappy” at the time. Filming for the RHOBH season coincided with the couple’s separation.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills returns January 7, at 8/7c on Bravo.
