Since leaving her polygamous husband in the dust, Janelle Brown has been living her best life. The second wife of Kody Brown was always easygoing and rarely caused drama within the large family. But she finally put her foot down when the father of 18 started to ignore her and her children. Since deciding to file for divorce, Janelle has upped and left Flagstaff. The Sister Wives star has chosen to live with her eldest daughter in North Carolina. Now, finally, she has a place she can call home where no one can boss her around.
Janelle Brown has put down roots
As everyone prepares to welcome the New Year, Janelle shared with Sister Wives fans that she had finally found a place she could call home. She took to her Instagram page, writing, “Not West Virginia but my new home. Finally, putting down some permanent roots. Doesn’t look like much yet, but it will. I like the wild feel that it has now. And we are planning for many acres to stay that way for the benefit of the wildlife.” Janelle has always been known for her love of gardening and farming. This plot looks perfect for the mother of six, who wants to keep carrying out her dream of a sustainable farm with produce.
Along with the clip that showed a vacant plot of unfarmed land and multiple trees, she added John Denver’s 1971 song Take Me Home, Country Roads. There was no house to be seen, which led fans to believe she was building from the ground up. Janelle and the rest of the Brown family were supposed to build their own houses on Coyote Pass. But that dream soon ended after the family began to splinter.
Janelle Brown’s dream of a farm is coming true
Along with her good news, Janelle also tagged Taeda Farms, the company she and her daughter, Madison Brown, and son-in-law, Caleb Brown, founded. At the time, Janelle shared with viewers that she “had a vision of retiring to a place where flowers bloom. And the serenity of nature.” News of the farm came out in September when the trio posted a photo in front of their company banner. At the time, the Sister Wives star wrote, “I am beyond excited to finally share our passion project with you—TAEDA FARMS!”
Janelle added, “We’d love to invite you to come along on this wild, messy, and beautiful journey as we build Taeda Farms from the ground up. It’s definitely not always glamorous. There’s plenty of sweat, dirt, and learning along the way. But every single step is getting us closer to something truly special. We’re turning hard work and heart into something beautiful, and we want you to be a part of it all!” The current Sister Wives season is showing Janelle and Maddie searching for the perfect piece of land, and it finally looks like she has found it.
Janelle Brown is happily moving on
Taeda Farm’s motto is “Building beauty from the ground up,” and Janelle is doing just that. The most recent episode showed Janelle pulling away from Kody and even going against him. She is trying to have the patriarch buy her out of her parcel at Coyote Pass, but Kody has ignored his ex-wife’s request. The former wife of Kody even tried to warn Meri Brown that she might get cheated out of money by Kody and Robyn Brown. Janelle was never one to stir the pot, but she made it clear she was not going to be walked over by her ex-husband.
Now, it looks like Janelle will be settling down in the mountains of North Carolina. There, she will finally be able to live her life the way she has always wanted. She no longer will be under the thumb of Kody, being told what to do. Janelle will also be able to spend quality time with her grandkids and heal from the loss of Garrison Brown, who passed away in March 2024. Congrats to you, Janelle!
