Nikki Garcia Has Learned Not ‘To Fix, Change or Improve Others’ After Artem Chigvintsev Divorce

If we said 2024 was a difficult year for Nikki Garcia, that would be an understatement. The former WWE Superstar and her ex-husband, Artem Chigvintsev, had a domestic incident which led to his arrest. They’ve since divorced, and Nikki is still trying to pick up the pieces.

As 2024 comes to an end, she’s reflecting on the difficult lessons and trying to learn from them. During a recent episode of her podcast, she explained why she’s feeling empowered to incorporate the lessons she’s learned as she starts a new chapter in 2025.

Nikki wants to “lead by example” after her divorce from Artem

Nikki opened up about her emotional post-divorce journey during a recent episode of her podcast, The Nikki & Brie Show podcast. Despite the title, Nikki hosted the show alone and reflected on her difficult year. She said she’s been researching the “divine feminine,” and is looking forward to bringing her lessons into the new year.

“We aren’t here to fix other people, we just aren’t,” Nikki explained.

According to the Total Bellas star, she learned about the difference between offering support in a relationship and trying to “fix” someone in a relationship. They aren’t the same thing.

“We’re here to lead by example. We are here to teach our children, nurture our children, teach others — lead by example — but we are not here to fix. And it took me 41 years to realize that, and I’m definitely taking that into my 2025.”

Nikki went on to offer advice to her listeners who find themselves trying to “fix” someone in a relationship. Just don’t do it. It’s not worth it.

“If you’re in that kind of relationship that you are fixing, you need to find your way out,” she explained. “Because trying to fix someone isn’t going to bring love and happiness and change. You’re honestly, in the end, gonna drain yourself and just bring sadness.”

Nikki said she learned that the hard way in 2024. Now, she’s ready to move forward, armed with the knowledge she’s gained.

She continued, “And so that hit me really hard, because I definitely am now in that space, and this new era of me in 2025 is no longer fixing.”

As Nikki launches her new era in 2025, we’ll also be able to see her back on our TV screens. She’s joining 20 other celebrities for the upcoming season of The Traitors, where she’ll compete for a shot at winning a giant chunk of change.

Season 3 of The Traitors kicks off on January 9 on Peacock.
