The season premiere of Summer House is right around the corner. And I can feel the anticipation building. If you close your eyes, you can almost hear the ocean in the background, but that moment is quickly overshadowed by roomies arguing. Everyone from Season 9 is back and that includes exes Carl Radke and a pregnant Lindsay Hubbard. The house will be activated with love triangles and drama. But among the friendly faces is one newbie who is giving off Jordan Verroi vibes. And I am not here for it.
Who is Imrul Hassan?
Imrul Hassan is a motorcycle-riding realtor who is ready to shake things up in the Montauk house. According to his Bravo bio, Imrul was born in Bangladesh. But he now calls New York City home. However, he is also a “full-time party boy.” I feel like he could be trouble. He enjoys a good time and is “an avid basketball player, surfer, and globe-trotter.” According to his work bio on Highline Residential, he is “a seasoned real estate professional with a track record of three years dedicated to assisting buyers, sellers, renters, and landlords.”
Imrul is “Renowned for his unique blend of professionalism and approachable demeanor.” While he isn’t exactly material for Million Dollar Listing, Imrul is making a dent in the real estate market. He seems to concentrate on rentals that go for an average of $5,000 a month.
Imrul Hassan might not be a fan favorite
For months, it was rumored that Imrul would be a new cast member. Even fans of Summer House started to connect the dots. But he doesn’t seem like he will be the most welcome. One fan caught a glimpse of Imrul at Lindsay’s baby shower. She posted the photo and wrote, “Stop. The guy behind her was the broker that showed my old apartment IM DEAAAADDDD his name is Imrul, and I thought he was so fake and annoying.” This wasn’t the only bad review. On Imrul’s real estate page, a disgruntled woman posted a review, saying, “Unfortunately, I feel inclined to write this not-so-stellar review after no one from the company has reached out to rectify the situation.”
“I was scheduled to tour an apartment with Imrul however, I was left extremely disappointed when I arrived and no one was there. After emailing and calling multiple times, neither Imrul nor the company reached back out to let me know he was no longer available for the tour. Thanks for the waste on transportation, sitter fees, and time, all while being 7 months pregnant,” the review stated. The sneak peek for the Summer House trailer shows Imrul making quite the impression as a self-proclaimed ladies’ man. But his stories seem outlandish as the trailer revealed a conversation about a two-story, 18-room house that has “a sex swing.”
Imrul Hassan is reminding Summer House fans of another roomie
In another clip, he is heard telling a woman to “take this dress off.” Jesse Solomon then asks, “How many people did you have sex with again?” Imrul’s response: “Just last night? Just two.” In a world of MeToo, I am a bit appalled by Imrul. But it is more disturbing that he reminds me of former roommate Jordan Verroi. You guys remember him. Jordan was the guy who was successful in making the majority of viewers feel awkward. At the start of his one-hit wonder season, Jordan divulged some raunchy anecdotes that were so far-fetched that his fellow roomies wondered if he was being truthful. Spoiler alert: he wasn’t truthful.
Jordan did hook up with Danielle Olivera and tried to flirt with Paige DeSorbo, but his motives came across as cringey. Now, after watching the Season 9 trailer, I can’t help but feel Imrul might be following in his footsteps. Jordan left the house as a cocky womanzier, and I just hope Imrul doesn’t fall into the same trap.
