No one expected to start 2025 off with a sub sandwich controversy, but thanks to Jennifer Aydin, that’s where we are. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star uploaded a video of herself freaking out at a Jersey Mike’s, and the world hasn’t been the same since. Now, Margaret Josephs has weighed on the drama, and she’s feeling the same way most of us feel. Embarrassed.
Margaret was in ‘shock’ over Jen’s Jersey Mike’s meltdown
Marge shared her response to the video during a recent episode of SiriusXM’s Reality Checked. Surprisingly, she had just run into her on-pause RHONJ castmate two days prior to the Jersey Mike’s outburst. Marge said that they had a “cordial” interaction, but Jen felt upset over how things shook out with RHONJ.
Marge explained, “I hadn’t seen Jennifer in forever. I was at the Gucci outlet at Woodbury Commons, and I was feeling empathetic towards her because she had come over to me.”
“We discussed stuff about the show and she was very upset, saying she’s always portrayed as the villain and that’s not who she is,” she continued.
What that in mind, you can only imagine how shocked Margaret felt when she logged into Instagram on New Year’s Day and saw Jennifer freaking out over a sandwich order. Remember that empathy she felt two days prior? That went out the window.
“Then I saw that I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ I had secondhand embarrassment,” Margaret recalled. I was so upset. How can you shame people who are working so hard on New Year’s Day?”
In the infamous Jersey Mike’s video, you can hear Jen age-shaming an employee and directing her ire at a customer behind her in line. She warned the hungry stranger that her husband was a “medical doctor” and that she was a “celebrity.” Margaret said she cringed at all of that boasting.
“I was embarrassed for her. And I’m embarrassed for her family that she behaves that way,” Margaret added. “And I think it’s embarrassing for our franchise that she behaves that way.”
