Bravolebrities, take note. Janet Caperna from The Valley says she has the keys to a “happy” marriage. After 2024 brought us separations and divorces left and right, we all need to take a moment to listen to her.
Janet and Jason Caperna tied the knot in 2022 and, knock on wood, their relationship is going strong. According to Janet, it’s not rocket science. It’s just a matter of keeping certain things separate.
Janet Caperna has the keys to martial success
The Valley star’s marriage advice came up after she appeared on a recent episode of Scheana Shay’s podcast, Scheanigans. During the episode, Janet talked about how she and her husband have two separate accounts for Amazon Prime. She said it makes things easier when they’re buying gifts for each other.
When Scheana shared a clip of the conversation on Instagram, a bunch of commenters let Janet know that paying for two Prime accounts didn’t make a lot of sense.
“My husband and I share the subscription but we each have our own account and can’t see the other person’s items,” one commenter flagged.
Another added, “Amazon has had the manage household option for so long. Get it together.”
Janet dropped into the comments to thank the people moonlighting as Amazon Customer Support. Then, she followed up with her own observation about how keeping things separate can be helpful for a relationship. Sometimes, it just works.
“Separate bathrooms and bank accounts,” Janet quipped. “Key to a happy marriage.”
She’s not wrong! The other good thing about separate bank accounts is if the marriage fails, you’ve got your own money. Janet’s costar on The Valley, Brittany Cartwright, knows that firsthand. She opened up about it as she navigated her split from Jax Taylor.
“We have separate accounts,” Brittany revealed during an episode of Watch What Happens Live last year.
According to Brittany, she and Jax always had separate bank accounts, so when they broke up, that was one thing that made the transition a little easier. For Janet, she’s confident that she and Jason can stay off that track altogether. They refuse to be the next victims of the reality TV curse.
