Recently, Real Housewives of New York alum Dorinda Medley traded in the Big Apple for the Scottish Highlands. She joined The Traitors Season 3, and Real Housewives fans were excited. Dorinda was in good company, as three other housewives were also in the castle. Alas, Dorinda’s stay was brief but memorable.
Dorinda Medley calls her exit from The Traitors “so unexpected”
During the first challenge, players rowed a Viking-style boat across the loch, stopping at floating platforms to retrieve money. However, to reach the next platform, two players had to sacrifice themselves. And only the players who sacrificed themselves were vulnerable to being murdered by The Traitors. Dorinda, Dolores Catania, along with Robyn Dixon, and Chanel Ayan, all volunteered. So, when the group headed back to shore and didn’t reach the final platform, Dorinda was upset. Plus, the sacrifices had to stay on the platform in the loch while the rest of the group went back to the castle and had dinner. Rude!
Naturally, Dorinda shared her feelings with several players and blasted Lord Ivar Mountbatten when he suggested she was a Traitor. In fact, Danielle Reyes, Carolyn Wiger, and Bob the Drag Queen were selected by host Alan Cumming to be Traitors. However, Dorinda was in New York housewife mode, and no one was going to win against her. Well, that night, to cause confusion, the Traitors murdered Dorinda.
“I cried my eyes out! When I saw that envelope, it was so unexpected,” Dorinda told DECIDER. She had really prepared for this opportunity and was sad that she couldn’t show off “all the fabulous outfits” she had brought. So, why did Dorinda think that she was targeted?
“I just think they realized that the Housewives are strong characters,” Dorinda explained. “We’re opinionated, and we’re strong.” She added, “I think people especially think of me as a strong woman who’s been through a lot of stuff and doesn’t take a lot of bullsh*t.”
Dorinda thought that she should have been a Traitor
Plus, Dorinda thought that being a Faithful wasn’t the right role for her. “First of all, I think I should have been a Traitor. But it was so devastating because unlike the Housewives, where you can sort of go on and you’re in control of what you say, how you say it, what you’re doing…this, you just have no control over,” she explained. “I’m hoping it was because they were intimidated by me. I’m trying to make a negative a positive.”
Of course, Dorinda has some questions for The Traitors at the reunion. “Why did you kill me? What were you thinking? Don’t you know I make great content?” Dorinda commented. “You should’ve kept me on longer. Don’t you miss seeing my outfits?”
I’m sad that Dorinda was the first victim of The Traitors Season 3, and didn’t get to be “Queen of the Castle.” But I’m glad we had a chance to see her in action taking down Ivar.
The Traitors Season 3 continues on Thursdays on Peacock at 9/8c.
