As Season 15 of Real Housewives of New York winds down, Jessel Taank and Brynn Whitfield’s friendship is unraveling.
Jessel admitted that her close relationship with Brynn is “broken” after the marketing consultant was being “a bitch to everyone.”
“It’s definitely broken,” she said. “There’s going to be a lot of work that has to be done to get her trust back … I think a lot of the girls feel that way.”
Brynn was doing a lot of talking behind Jessel’s back
Brynn has really been the pot-stirrer this season. On the January 7 episode, she repeatedly attacked Jessel. She made fun of her for hiring professional glam prior to family events, even though it’s a common practice in the Housewives universe. She also went after Jessel for having “a different face and different teeth” than she had for RHONY’s 2023 premiere.
To make matters worse, Brynn didn’t say either of these things to Jessel’s face. Brynn made the comments out of Jessel’s earshot or in production confessionals.
“She was just … being a bit of a bitch to everyone,” Jessel said. “She went into the season maybe feeling like she was God and playing God in a way? And it just didn’t resonate.” Ouch. Jessel bites back.
“But here’s the interesting thing — to your face, it’s ‘everything’s cool,'” she added. “But if you’ve noticed, all the snarky remarks come in confessionals, like the stuff that happens behind your back.”
Brynn “twisted” a story on camera that was “very damaging” to Jessel’s marriage
Jessel thought Brynn was “very two-faced” over the course of the season, causing her to reconsider their future as friends. “I don’t like that, and I’m not cool with it,” she said.
The thing that hurt the most, though, was when Brynn shared a “distortion of a story” with the other women. She claimed that Jessel told her that her husband, Pavit Randhawa, was not the “love of [her] life.”
When Jessel watched the episode, with Pavit by her side, she was very hurt by the betrayal. I can’t imagine that was much fun for Pavit to hear either.
“It was a fun, innocent conversation that we [had] on vacation last year about … the craziest hookup [we’ve ever had],” Jessel explained. “She distorted my entire story … Twisted and manipulated it in a way that was actually very damaging to my marriage.”
“Watching that back, I had no clue that that was even discussed,” Jessel continued. “So I’m sitting on the couch with Pavit–of all people–and my jaw is on the floor, because I’m just like, ‘Wait, that never happened.’ So now it’s my word against Brynn … and it didn’t go down that way. It literally did not happen.”
Jessel hopes that Brynn will grow from these conflicts. “I just really wish for her that she is able to watch … how she’s been acting on the show and … use it to reflect. Because I don’t think that anyone really loved Brynn,” the entrepreneur concluded. “I just think that she needs to kind of get some help.”
