As the Los Angeles fires continue, Meghan Markle has decided to push pause on her upcoming plans. With news about the fires ongoing, Meghan and Netflix decided to push back the release date of With Love, Meghan.
The upcoming series heavily features California as a place near and dear to Meghan’s heart. She and Prince Harry live with their two children in Montecito. Outlets have described the series as a heartfelt tribute to Southern California’s beauty. As such, releasing the series amid the fires felt wrong.
Meghan and Harry initially made a statement on their website addressing the matter. “In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighborhoods and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centers, and so much more – affecting tens of thousands from all walks of life.”

The January 9 statement from sussex.com encouraged anyone and everyone to donate to organizations such as The American Red Cross. “Some families and people have been left with nothing. Please consider donating clothing, children’s toys and clothing and other essentials.”
As for the upcoming series, Meghan put out an additional statement on January 12. “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.” As it stands, the show is likely the least of Meghan’s concerns.
On January 10, Meghan and Harry volunteered at the World Central Kitchen in Pasadena, as PEOPLE reported. The couple distributed supplies and food to victims of the Eaton Fire. Through their charitable organization, the Archwell Foundation, Meghan and Harry have also made financial contributions to those affected.
Meghan and Harry also opened their home up to some of their California connections forced to evacuate.
With Love, Meghan will hit Netflix on March 4.
