There’s an old saying: who watches the watchmen? Andy Cohen often holds the Real Housewives accountable for the things they say and do, but who holds the Watch What Happens Live host accountable? That question came to the forefront of Bravo fans’ minds in 2024.
Andy found himself wrapped up in the controversy around reality TV, and whether reality stars should unionize. Andy, as the most prominent higher-up at Bravo, became someone lots of people liked to shout at. As such, people like Bethenny Frankel made sure to highlight all of Andy’s supposed bad behavior. Amid talks of unionization, all sorts of lawsuits came out of the woodwork against Andy.
For example, last year, Andy took some flack for saying one of the Housewives lived in a “casita” compared to her co-stars. Bethenny latched onto that moment. In the back-and-forth, folks accused Bethenny of acting for her own self-interest. Now, Andy’s made another snarky comment. But shouldn’t the big guy just be allowed to have a bit of fun now and again? We love shade!
Andy Cohen laughs about Real Housewives dental work
During a recent episode of WWHL, Robbie Williams joined Andy for a chat. “It took us 15 years to get you here,” Andy said. “Yeah, just in time for my new teeth,” Robbie said. “A round of applause for my new teeth.” Andy complimented the new set, along with the cheering audience.
Robbie joked, “Not too much, right? Not like the yellow nubs that I used to have.” Andy added, “Also not like the big chompers that a lot of the Housewives have.” Shady boots!
It was a real blink and you’ll miss it sort of comment. Robbie hardly acknowledged it. Instead, he directed attention to his spray tan. Perhaps most surprising is how unprompted the comment felt.
Sure, the two were talking about teeth, but bringing up the Housewives felt like sort of a non-sequitur. Granted, many Housewives would probably take it in good fun. Perhaps they can ignore the fact that he’s their boss. Because this man is also friends with a lot of the women. Let’s put the pitchforks down. This was all in good fun.
