The friendship between Lisa Barlow and Angie Katsanevas suffered this season. During the Season 5 Real Housewives of Salt Lake City finale, their feud went nuclear. While Lisa mostly seemed bothered that Angie was friends with Whitney Rose, the two were never able to make amends.
So, Heather Gay suggested that everyone read aloud the meanest text that one of their cast mates wrote about them. After hearing it, the co-stars would make amends and “burn” it forever. Or, at least until the reunion.
Lisa Barlow dragged Angie Katsanevas into the fight during the RHOSLC Season 5 finale
Well, Lisa read a text that Whitney sent, alleging that she and her husband, John Barlow, took part in a threesome. “What the f*ck is that?” Lisa exclaimed. Both Angie and Whitney told Lisa that no one believed the rumor.
However, Lisa breathed new life into a rumor about Angie’s husband, Shawn Trujillo. In the past, there were rumors that Shawn allegedly had gay affairs. Both Shawn and Angie denied these rumors. So, Lisa yelled at Angie, “I heard that Shawn [Angie’s husband] does circle jerks.” That was a hit at Angie’s marriage to deflect away from her own.
Well, Angie sprang up and started throwing flowers at Lisa across the table. Finally, security intervened. “It just triggered me. First of all, why in the world would you say [that]? It’s her true colors, though – like, ‘I’m hurt, I’m going to bring you down,'” Angie said in the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City: After Show.
She continued, “First of all, I didn’t appreciate those rumors and things being threatened about my marriage. Obviously, there’s no truth to them, but why are you pulling my husband in? And then my family has to look at things in the press for a year, it finally goes away, and now you throw it back out there?” Angie added, “It was irresponsible, it was damaging, it was vicious.” I think it’s safe to say Baby Gorgeous has roared into her villain era.
Of course, Lisa had an excuse for blasting Shawn. She stated that she defended Angie during Season 4 and that when Lisa read that text from Whitney, Angie was MIA. “She was not there for me. I was there for her,” Lisa stated, “and I’m looking to her for like, ‘Hey, step in, I thought we don’t talk about this. How would you feel if she was saying this about Shawn?'” She added, “And the fact that she’s like, ‘F*ck you’ and ruining those flowers – I paid for those flowers!”
Lisa continued to slam Angie. “Like what kind of a friend are you? If she said that to me, like, ‘How would you feel about someone saying this about John?'” Lisa remarked. “I’d be like, ‘You’re right, shut the f*ck up, Whitney.'”
Meanwhile, Angie did feel like she stood up for Lisa. And this argument also proved one thing to Angie. “This is where it confirms to me Lisa’s upset at me for being friends with Whitney,” Angie said.
