Chrissy Teigen believes social media doesn’t have to be ‘our whole lives’
Chrissy Teigen took to her Instagram Story over the weekend to propose a social media curfew. She looked cozy in bed while being covered with a white fuzzy blanket. In the video, after sharing her thoughts on the TikTok ban and return, the model continued to suggest that social media should be shut off for a certain period during the day. Teigen said she “personally thinks that one day there will be the most incredible rule.”
She continued, “My first rule would be — I think the government or some kind of ethics committee, somebody, should shut off social media between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.” Teigen, who boasts almost 42 million followers on Instagram, explained the proposal, “Leave it all up. Everyone gets to do anything they want, but only between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.” She added after the allowance period, they should just “shut it off. Done.”
Teigen then recalled she comes from the “days where we had nothing and then we saw something.” The mother of four further said, “Guys, life was great. Life was awesome before this.” Teigen also argued that although “it’s hard to see it now,” the social media curfew is “very doable.” She added, “This doesn’t have to be our lives.”
Chrissy Teigen continued, “And I say this for myself as well because, obviously, I’m on here right now doing this.” However, she acknowledged that “it doesn’t have to define us or be our whole lives.” Teigen’s comments on social media came in light of the recent TikTok ban in the country.
