Bling Empire: New York Star Lynn Ban Dies Aged 51 After Brain Surgery

We’re bummed to share this devastating news from the Netflix reality TV world. Bling Empire: New York star Lynn Ban has passed away at the age of 51. Her son confirmed the news on Instagram, and it comes just weeks after a devastating Christmas Eve ski accident left Lynn hospitalized. Here’s everything we know about what happened.

Lynn said she was “grateful” and “blessed” to see 2025

On Christmas Eve, Lynn was vacationing with family in Aspen, Colorado. In an Instagram post, the jewelry designer explained how she “face-planted” going down the mountain. She was wearing a helmet and was able to finish the slope. However, she later developed a headache and went to a local hospital. That’s where they discovered a brain bleed, and she was airlifted to a trauma center.

From there, Lynn was intubated and underwent an emergency craniotomy. She told fans that she had a “long road of recovery ahead,” but felt “grateful and blessed” to see the new year. According to a report from Page Six, tragedy struck on Monday, January 20, less than a month after the accident.

Lynn’s husband found her deceased in their home, where she was pronounced dead. Her son later confirmed the news on Instagram, offering a heartbreaking conclusion to his mom’s medical journey.

“My mum passed away on Monday,” Sebastian Ban wrote. “I know she wanted to share her journey after her accident and brain surgery, so I thought she would appreciate one last post sharing the news to people who supported her.”

Underneath the post, which featured a collection of photos celebrating Lynn’s life, tons of celebrities poured into the comments to offer their condolences. Notably, Dorothy Wang from Bling Empire shared words of support, calling Lynn a “badass” who she’d never forget.

Rihanna dropped into the comments with a similar sentiment. The singer, who has worn Lynn’s designs for years, called the reality star a “fairy godmother.”

RiRi wrote, “2025 is rocking me at this point! This is too much!!!”

Bling Empire: New York streams on Netflix.
