Here’s Why Tyra Banks Didn’t Reveal Losing Her Home to LA Fire

In a shocking disclosure, Tyra Banks revealed she lost her home to the devastating Los Angeles fire during her recent appearance on 7News’ Sunrise. While discussing the wildfires that ravaged LA earlier this month, Banks told hosts Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington that she was among those who lost their houses to the blaze. The model said she hasn’t “really talked about it” and shared her reasons for not opening up about it sooner as she held back her tears.

Tyra Banks ‘didn’t want to pull a lot of attention’ to her over losing home to LA fires

Almost tearing up, Tyra Banks shared that she didn’t talk about losing her home to the deadly LA fires to avoid pulling attention to her. She told hosts Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington, “I haven’t really talked about it, but yeah, I have.” Banks then continued to reveal the reason behind not discussing it before, “I just didn’t wanna pull a lot of attention to me. I feel like there’s a lot of people that need that attention so I haven’t really talked about it.”

In more revelations during the segment, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel revealed she was in Australia when the wildfires burned her LA home. Banks claimed to have been at a friend’s house, checking her phone to ensure family and friends’ safety when she and her partner learned that the blaze burned their house. “I just pulled it together and just didn’t say anything to my friends and just stayed in that moment,” she added, noting that they cried and “had our moment” after returning home.

Tyra Banks further admitted that they lost “some mementos” when the LA wildfires destroyed their home. She explained that they had been living between New York and Australia and had brought a lot of things with them. Banks appeared grateful as they took many “memento mementos” with them. Throughout the conversation, she appeared calm and collected while holding back her tears and concluded by calling the situation “tough.”

Banks is reportedly among multiple celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Anthony Hopkins, and Mel Gibson, who lost their homes to the flames.
