Real Housewives of Beverly Hills OG Kyle Richards thinks a piece of the story is missing regarding her texting with Dorit Kemsley’s estranged husband PK Kemsley.
When she was grilled over exchanging messages with PK during their separation, Kyle says her friends weren’t understanding the whole story. An important piece of the puzzle was missing.
Kyle Richards originally messaged both PK and Dorit
On her January 21, 2025, Amazon Live, Kyle reminded viewers that she has always texted PK. They have a history of exchanging memes and jokes with each other.
But when the news broke of Dorit and PK’s separation, Kyle reached out to both of them. “No one seems to be mentioning that,” she said. “So when I read that text message, that was the message I sent PK [and Dorit] when they announced their separation.”
“They’re making it seem like, ‘Oh Kyle’s not telling the truth. She said she just sent memes,’” she continued. “I told everybody I sent both Dorit and PK a text when their separation was announced. That’s what I thought a good friend would do. But no one’s mentioning that I also texted Dorit, which I find very interesting.”
Back in November, Kyle confessed on the RHOBH After Show that she hesitated to text Dorit at the time. She was afraid her former bestie would “misinterpret” her intentions. “I was in a total panic about what to do,” she explained at the time.
Dorit confirmed Kyle’s text message on the After Show. “Kyle did eventually end up reaching out by text,” she recalled. “Would you believe that was actually [what] more than 90 percent of the ladies did?” You would think your friend announcing the breakup of her marriage would merit at least a phone call.
Kyle insists she and PK are nothing more than friends
Dorit and PK announced their split in May 2024, around the time filming for RHOBH Season 14 began. It didn’t take long before Dorit was questioning Kyle’s relationship with her estranged husband.
When the group filmed at the Viper Room in June, Dorit told Kyle that PK was in a “very unpredictable state of mind” and she was on “high alert.” Then she asked if Kyle had been in touch with him.
“My friendship with PK is memes and jokes,” Kyle said. “You know, he doesn’t share anything about your relationship or anything that’s going on. We don’t talk like that. It’s literally, like memes and jokes … and that’s it.”
But Dorit was annoyed that Kyle was texting with PK when he wasn’t communicating with her. Even more than that, she and Kyle weren’t in a good place at the time.
“It’s not even that Kyle’s been communicating with PK since our separation,” she said in a confessional. “The point is that you’re texting my husband when you and I are not talking when you and I are not good. It’s just not okay.”
Kyle was confused because Dorit had never had a problem with her and PK’s friendship before. But things have changed, Kyle. How would you feel if Dorit was texting your estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky? You might not be a fan of that situation either.
On her livestream update, Kyle shared that she’s now in a ”much, much better place” with Dorit.
