The Real Housewives of New York Season 15 finale was devastating. Viewers watched as the group of ladies were torn apart at the seams. During an argument, Ubah Hassan suggested that Brynn Whitfield might have slept her way onto the series. The cast trip took a turn after Brynn shared that she had been sexually assaulted and claimed that Ubah knew. The scene was dark and left all of the women visibly shaken; especially after Ubah broke down crying, swearing that she was never privy to this information. Now, Brynn’s spoken to Rolling Stone – and the RHONY cast aren’t impressed.
Brynn Whitfield talks to Rolling Stone
Even though Brynn admitted that Ubah might not have “clocked” her sexual assault reveal, the socialite doubled down in her interview with Rolling Stone. Brynn said, “It’s not right to assume that everyone remembers everything that you say all the time and then hold them accountable for that. I know for a fact that I said it, but when someone’s screaming into the phone, the other person might not necessarily hear them. … I know what I said, and I know that I did say it.”
During the finale, Brynn left the villa in Puerto Rico early and shared that she was stunned to watch her friends insinuate that she was lying. “That was shocking,” she shared. “You’re telling me that in the three minutes from when I’m called horrible names by Ubah and I’m obviously upset that I somehow devised a plan? It’s disgusting that I’m talking about two things that I would hope that no woman or person would have to experience — suicide and sexual assault — and everyone’s like, ‘Brynn, we feel taken advantage of.’ Maybe don’t use those words to describe the situation. I just feel like I wasn’t shown much respect.”
Erin Lichy has entered the chat
Over the last two seasons of the Real Housewives of New York, Erin Lichy and Brynn have come across as being very close. But the realtor couldn’t hold back her comments after Brynn told the publication they were like “sisters.”
Erin felt the need to clap back, sharing, “To say we are sisters is quite the reach. We haven’t spoken or seen each other in months other than Brynn thanking Abe for clearing up the intention for the prank call — I really wanted Brynn to win so bad.”
Erin said, “I was excited to watch her shine like I am with all my girlfriends. Each woman on this show is special and smart, and I really was excited for us collectively, but Brynn always had all this childhood trauma that I was particularly excited to see her break free from.”
“Yet, here we are … An article doubling down instead of saying hey, I messed up. It’s upsetting to read for all of you viewers, can you imagine how it feels for us?” she asked.
In her lengthy comment, Erin went on to say, “This show is supposed to be fun, it’s all I tried to do throughout, yet somehow things kept getting twisted and turned and I will take ownership that I very much was naïve and fell victim to that manipulation.”
Brynn Whitfield is losing friends
Erin is not the only Real Housewives of New York cast member who is upset with Erin. On January 22, Sai De Silva unfollowed Brynn on Insta. Even though it seems mostly everyone else still follows her, Sai has chosen to cut her off. However, as of this article, Brynn was still following Sai. It also looks like Rebecca Minkoff is no longer following Brynn after the finale. None of Brynn’s other cast members have spoken out about the episode as of yet.
Before Erin’s comment, Brynn posted a quote on social media.
It read, “Teach your daughters to say no. Teach your daughters to raise their voices. To value safety over politeness. To yell fire instead of help. Teach your daughters to feel comfortable in their own bodies. Teach your daughters to live without shame.” The meme noted, “Teach your daughters to hit first. To bite back. To burn the world down when they are mistreated.”
It ended by saying, “Teach your daughters to out their abusers. To be deadly serious. Advising, “To be dangerous. To be sure. And to know what they want. Teach your daughters to take a stand. To be bold. To be brave.”
The Real Housewives of New York is available to stream on Peacock.
