Season 2 of The Real Housewives of New York was unexpectedly dark. However, we were blessed with the return of Jenna F*cking Lyons. Apparently, Jenna’s return came with a condition. Her partner, Cass Bird, wouldn’t be part of RHONY. As a result, only part of Jenna’s actual life was portrayed on the show. The rest of the cast wrestled with this issue since they showed every aspect of their lives.

Still, viewers wish that they could see a quick view of this part of Jenna’s life. However, she was transparent from the jump that Cass would not be part of RHONY.
That did nothing to lower the RHONY fan’s curiosity about the status of their relationship. In June 2023, Jenna announced that she and Cass, a professional photographer, were dating. Then in October 2024, Jenna confirmed their engagement.
Why was Cass Bird trying to avoid Andy Cohen?
Well, host Andy Cohen attempted to solve the mystery in a sneak peek of the Season 15 RHONY reunion. Jay’s Reality Blog posted the clip.
Andy said, “A lot of opinions about your partner Cass choosing not to be on the show. I ran into you two at a party and she ran away from me quicker than anyone has run away from me. I mean, in terror.” He added, “And then I think you guys left the party.”
Jenna tried to smooth over the awkward situation. “In all clarity that was not because of you, I promise. We’ve gotten stopped seven times on our way out and she’s like, ‘No. We have to go.’”
Andy replied, “Yes. Okay.” But he looked annoyed. “I remember talking to you, though, before we started filming this season. The ‘H’ word was used in relation to Cass and this show. That she hated the show,” he stated. “Is there a part of you that wishes that you could show people your real relationship?”
Jenna responded, “Yes and no. I know the way that she’s very outspoken and very provocative.” When Andy asked if Jenna was “a little worried,” she replied, “Maybe just a little.”

Then Andy read a fan question. “Heather from Brooklyn said, ‘On Watch What Happens Live you hinted you might already be married. Can you just give it to us straight? Are you married already or just engaged? And why won’t you give a straight answer on the topic?’” Andy asked.
“Totally fair. Partially it’s because we had a very playful, like emotional ceremony with friends in Texas, but it’s not legal,” Jenna explained. “We’re not in a hurry. We’re already like together, so that’s the most important part.”
The Real Housewives of New York reunion starts Tuesday, January 28 at 9/8c on Bravo.
