The wait is almost over! The Real Housewives of Atlanta will be back on our small screens, and the drought will finally have come to an end. Season 15 showed Drew Sidora finally dumping the excess weight that was her ex-husband. After years of gaslighting, she finally kicked Ralph Pittman to the curb. The actor also had some tension with longtime peach Kandi Burruss. Shereé Whitfield became a glama, and Kenya Moore was still “gone with the wind fabulous.” But the new season will be showing a new dimension of the franchise. Here’s what fans need to see in the soon-to-drop trailer.
Fans need to see Porsha Williams flying above her divorce
The Real Housewives of Atlanta gods have answered viewers’ prayers as the network chose to bring back Porsha Williams. In February 2024, Porsha filed for divorce from Simon Guobadia. The two had a whirlwind relationship that included two wedding ceremonies. But their love bubble finally burst, and the mother of one wanted out. After months of back and forth, Porsha had a huge victory in September when the court ruled that Simon’s request for a videotaped deposition of her employer, True Entertainment, wouldn’t go ahead. The judge noted, “The Court does not find merit in Husband’s argument.”
With the new season having been filmed in correlation with the separation, fans want to see the dissolution of the marriage unfold. Personally, I want to see Porsha having a take-no-prisoners mentality. In a FanFest sneak peek, Porsha is shown walking back into her lawyer’s office, noting she hasn’t dealt with the emotional fallout yet. Porsha has hinted that there were a lot of “untruths” within her second marriage. It will be interesting for P to go into more detail and see her come out as the victor. There is no doubt Porsha learned a valuable lesson from her first divorce, and she isn’t about to be hoodwinked again.
Fans want to see Shamea Morton embrace her peach
For the first time in the franchise, the longtime ‘friend of’ Shamea Morton has finally been given a full-time position. She has been a friend of Porsha’s and is privy to most of the major drama on the series. The trailer needs to show her opening scene since first impressions are everything. The actress/singer is currently the Atlanta Hawks’ in-game host, but she also works as a radio personality. Shamea has been the shoulder for Porsha to lean on, so I imagine she knows the inner workings of the divorce and probably has tea to spill.
Shamea has also been on her own journey She married Gerald Mwangi, a Kenyan businessman, in 2017. The couple have two daughters, Shya and Shiloh. Shamea’s story has been sad as she revealed that baby Shiloh was quite sick and had to undergo surgery for her breathing. I hope the trailer starts Shamea off in a positive light, as viewers have been waiting for ages to see her hold a peach. I have no doubt that Porsha will be in her first scene with her as both discuss their life issues on camera.
Fans need to see a peek at the Kenya Moore fallout
I swear Season 16 was supposed to be Kenya’s year. All the big hitters had departed the series and it was hers for the taking. But something went very, very wrong. She and Brittany Eady started off rough as Kenya reported to producers that she didn’t feel safe after a fight with the newbie. The story goes while at a cast gathering, Kenya found and blew up sexually explicit photos of Brittany. Everyone saw the snaps and they were not blurred out. Fans now know that Kenya has been fired from the Real Housewives of Atlanta.
She told Tamron Hall that there’s a tendency to “come on and try to make a name for themselves,” and “things took like a really dark turn toward me,” adding, “There was a young lady that was new, and she just was poking the bear.” So when the trailer drops fans would like to see as much as they can regarding the feud. I can only assume that the main fight and photos will be left on the cutting room floor. But in my opinion, it’s only fair fans get the whole story.
