Real Housewives of Orange County newbie Katie Ginella has a friend from another reality TV universe. Apparently, she and The Hills alum Audrina Patridge have been buddies for years.
“Audrina and I met 12 years ago,” Katie said. “I was working for Back9Network, which was on Direct TV Channel 262, and I was a reporter. And she was an investor. We met, and we hung out a lot.”
Once Katie joined RHOC in Season 18, Audrina proved to be a real support during a tough debut season. “I actually leaned on her a lot doing this reality TV thing,” Katie added. “She was so kind and so helpful.”
Audrina Patridge had her fill of “drama and chaos” in her 20s
Before choosing a quieter life in Orange County, Audrina appeared on both The Hills and its reboot, The Hills: New Beginnings. With all of her reality TV experience, Katie would love for her friend to join RHOC when it returns for Season 19. She needs an ally to help her stand up to Heather Dubrow and Emily Simpson.
“I would love for [Audrina] to join the Housewives,” Katie told Us Weekly. “She’s super spicy and super sharp, and she’s also got a lot of soul. I would love it, but I don’t think she’s interested. She’s a great friend of mine though.”
Audrina spoke in October 2024 about her friendship with Katie. “I talk to her from time to time about what she’s going through on the show, which is wild,” Audrina said. “Sometimes I sit back and go, ‘Wow, for once, I’m not in the mix of it. I get to sit on the outside and listen in.’”
Sadly, it sounds like the single mom of eight-year-old daughter Kirra has very little interest in returning to reality TV. “If I ever did reality again, it would have to be totally positive and inspirational,” Audrina laughed. “I’ve done enough drama and chaos in my 20s … I’m done with that.”
