Last week on Southern Charm, Craig and JT agreed to be cordial. Craig invited him to go fishing, and Austen felt betrayed. It didn’t help that Craig asked Austen to sign over their podcast. Salley threw a housewarming party, and clashed with Taylor over their history with Gaston. Salley also revealed people warned her not to trust Taylor. Venita decided to jump in Salley’s pool, but it quickly went wrong. Thankfully, Craig jumped in to save the day. Here’s what happened in Southern Charm Season 10, Episode 7: “Overtures and Outbursts.”

JT, Craig, and Shep go fishing, which predictably bothers Austen, Madison, and Whitney. JT also throws an after party for Molly’s concert at one of his rental properties. However, he damages his place in the group yet again by dropping a bombshell about Salley and Gaston.

Venita says Taylor needs to regain the Southern Charm ladies’ trust

Venita stops by Salley’s house to return her clothes. Salley is still dealing with the wreckage of her housewarming party. While Venita’s there, the two dish about Taylor. Venita explains that Taylor’s betrayal of Olivia made it hard for the other women to trust her. Meanwhile, Taylor comes to the same realization. She confides in Gaston, who will once again miss a group event. This week, it’s the afterparty for Molly’s concert.

Showing how much he wants to be welcomed back into the friend group, JT agreed to go fishing even though he has no experience with it. He isn’t great at water based activities in general. As he says multiple times, he prefers golf. Ironically, the boat’s captain’s name is Austin. So Craig jokes that Austen is there in spirit. Craig later jokes that they should name the fish they caught Austen.

Despite how bad JT is at fishing, the guys have a great time. Craig says there are two JTs. One is this fun guy, but the other is a weird guy. Craig wishes JT could just be the fun guy all the time. Shep posts a picture of him, Craig, and JT holding the fish they caught. Austen takes it as a slap in the face.

Craig and Shep talk about their relationships

A few episodes back, Shep complained that Craig never opens up about Paige. I guess fishing brought them closer together, because he does confide when Shep comes over. Craig says that sometimes, Paige texts him that they should just live in a farm house away from everything. But then she’ll have a good day in the city, and declare she doesn’t ever want to leave. He also laments that, while he’s fine waiting a few years to have kids, he doesn’t want to wait a decade.

Shep opens up about his own long distance relationship with Sienna. He tells Craig that it’s the most serious he’s felt about a girl since Taylor. And he admits he dropped the l-bomb pretty early, albeit while they weren’t clothed.

In a confessional, Shep says this is the first time he’s thought about the future with a girl. What is with him and Austen only thinking about that in their 40s? Honestly, Shep keeps focusing so much on the possibility of living in the Bahamas, I have to wonder. Does he really want a future with Sienna? Or does he just want to move to the Bahamas?

Molly’s musical moment

As she prepares for her concert, Molly talks about her long history with music. She started playing at 10, and almost got a full ride to college. However, modeling took up most of her energy for a while. A few years ago, while rocking out to some 80s tunes, she realized she needed to get back into her great passion. She emailed her band teacher, saying, “I don’t know if you remember me, but you changed my life.” He responded that of course he remembered her. So, she joined the Charleston band. However, she admits lip filler makes it a little more difficult to play these days.

The group attends Molly’s concert, although Madison and Austen can’t make it. Shep seems particularly invested. The way editors keep cutting to him makes me wonder if they’re setting up him and Molly. I would like to reiterate that she can do better!

Meanwhile, JT compliments Venita’s outfit, and they have a flirty exchange. JT says he isn’t about to make a tuba playlist, but he’s happy Molly has something to fill her “passion cup.” Molly thanks them all for coming to her “nerd stuff.” In a confessional, she jokes, “It’s so lame, I’m crying over a tuba!” Everyone heads to JT’s property for the afterparty.

JT drops a bombshell about Salley and Gaston

As the party host, JT shows off all his drinks and orders barbecue. Whitney almost immediately breaks off part of the mini fridge. The girls joke that Shep’s scarf makes him look like he teaches tantric sex. When Leva explains what tantric sex is, Molly says it sounds like too much, and her vagina would probably fall off.

Poor Molly also has to wait forever to get a plate at her own party. Because Taylor was going to get them, but gets distracted by talking to JT. It’s the first time they’ve seen each other since the Carolina Cup. Taylor comments on his pit-stained shirt and how his scab is healing. JT, obviously still in love with her, jokes about how flattering this is.

However, just when everything is going well, JT says he has to tell Taylor something that will make her hate him. He brings up Salley’s past with Gaston. Taylor once again insists it was a fling. But JT backs up Salley’s version of events, that they dated for months and exchanged I love yous. Then he drops a bomb, revealing that Salley and Gaston started sleeping together when he had a girlfriend.

“No, I’m not doing that,” Taylor says as she storms out of the kitchen furious. She says that JT’s is “being an assh*le, just like this one,” pointing to Salley. Taylor accuses them both of dragging her boyfriend’s name. Salley says, “It’s an easy name to drag.” Taylor continues to implicate both JT and Salley, who asks Taylor to stop bringing her into this.

After Taylor leaves, JT tells the whole group what he said. Salley confirms that it’s true. She had no idea Gaston had a girlfriend when they met. Once she found out, she was already “hooked.” Shep blurts out that he doesn’t understand how, because Gaston isn’t good-looking.

Craig reminds JT that Taylor isn’t his girlfriend, and it’s not his business. JT says he was just trying to warn Taylor. Ryan chimes in that JT can’t do this to people’s lives. “Sorry, mister two fake eyebrows and a sh*tty hairline guy,” JT snarks in a confessional.

Craig accuses JT of attacking Salley. She agrees, adding she doesn’t even know him. JT says Craig is acting like a lawyer. Craig responds, “This isn’t the same person who went fishing with me and Shep earlier this week, because you were f*cking nice and happy and kind.” JT emphasizes he’s just telling the truth. Craig storms out. JT has flashbacks to the driving range.

Whitney, seemingly the only person who remembered this was supposed to be a party for Molly, congratulates her on her performance. He leaves as well, but only after JT has Shep confirm that he never called Patricia a b*tch.

Venita on Jarrett versus JT

Venita says she can see beyond the persona JT puts on. “I get Jarrett and everyone else gets JT,” she says. “JT has to be the big man in the room but Jarrett is, like, soft, and tender, and quiet.” She also whispers to Leva that he looks “yummy” in his pit-stained shirt.

Shep commends JT for warning Taylor about Gaston, because a lot of women have bad things to say about him. “But there’s different ways to skin a cat.” Leva agrees with Shep. JT is baffled that everyone insists he shouldn’t tell the truth because it hurt Taylor. He storms off, and Venita runs after him. JT declares that she’s the only one that’s real, and that’s where we leave off this week.

Southern Charm Season 10 continues Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
