Say what you want about Mia Thornton, but you have to applaud her ability to always have an explanation for even the strangest of scenarios. We see it week after week on The Real Housewives of Potomac. It’s a skill, and now, the latest example is how she’s justifying her unexpected split from Inc.
During a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, she claimed they broke up because her Housewives career didn’t align with his “brand.” The wildest part is that Mia says she can respect his point of view. Did he not know what he was signing up for?
Mia Thornton explains it all
Season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomac has largely shown Mia parading Inc around as her new partner. Just two months ago, she was fantasizing about engagement rings and talking about starting a family with him. She made it seem like Gordon Thornton was in the past.
Out of nowhere, Mia shocked the world by announcing over the New Year’s holiday that she and Inc were going their separate ways. At the time, she insinuated that she and Gordon were embarking on a new chapter. It was a true 180, so Andy Cohen needed answers.
“Inc has worked really really hard for his reputation in his career. He’s 20 years in as a syndicated radio personality, and he feels as though this platform doesn’t align with his brand,” Mia claimed.
According to Mia, she and Inc are still “best friends,” regardless of his feelings. She also added that she could respect his opinion about her “platform.” The answer left Andy looking completely baffled. We were feeling the same way watching it.
Thankfully, Quad Webb from Married to Medicine was the other guest in the clubhouse. She was basically the honorary co-host of this episode. Note cards in hand, she asked the follow-up question we were all wondering. Why in the world did Inc pursue a relationship with Mia knowing that she’s on RHOP?
“To his defense, I need to get a divorce first,” Mia responded. “But, I need to get a divorce first, so we’re gonna work on that. We’re gonna focus on G, we’re gonna focus on the kids.”
