Report: Mauricio Umansky’s Alleged Texts Used as Evidence in Restraining Order Court Battle

Trigger Warning: This article contains a discussion of intimate partner violence allegations.

The court battle between Mauricio Umansky’s family and his dad’s ex-girlfriend, Simin Tabibnia, is getting messier by the day. Allegations of abuse are flying in every direction, and now, Mauricio’s texts are being used as evidence.

Previously, Mauricio and his sister, Sharon Umansky, won a conservatorship case for their 81-year-old father, Eduardo Umansky. They argued in court that Simin was isolating their father and exhibiting increasingly violent behavior. They got a restraining order against Simin, but she’s clapping back with one of her own. She claims she’s actually the victim in all of this.

Simin claims she endured “physical abuse” from Mauricio’s father

In new court documents obtained by In Touch, Simin presented a case against Eduardo that paints a much different picture from what Mauricio and Sharon argued in court.

Originally, Mau and Sharon said that Simin was abusing Eduardo. They felt that she was trying to take advantage of him and manipulated him with “threats, violence, and sexual favors for money.” Things escalated even further when Simin allegedly attacked Sharon in the lobby of Eduaro’s apartment. Simin denies all of it.

“[Sharon’s] claims that I am physically abusive are also untrue and ironic. For a long time, I have endured a lot of violent physical abuse from [Eduardo],” Simin wrote in her petition.

Simin told the court about incidents where Eduardo allegedly punched her in the face, shoved her to the ground, and choked her. She even submitted a picture of a huge bruise on her arm, which she claimed was a result of Eduardo’s abuse.

In the petition, Simin explained that things have grown increasingly concerning in the weeks following the restraining order. Supposedly, Eduardo has been “relentlessly” harassing her. She said he calls and texts her multiple times a day, with over 100 instances since receiving the restraining order. Here’s where Mauricio’s texts come into play.

Simin included a screenshot of a text that her daughter allegedly received from Mauricio. He warned her that law enforcement would get involved if she kept trying to communicate with Eduardo.

He wrote, “Regarding your mom and my father, I want to remind you and her that she cannot be speaking to my father. We are aware that my father is calling her, despite this she is still picking up when she is not allowed to.”

The text continued, “We don’t want to but are prepared to bring this to the police if she continues. Please make sure she is aware.”

Meanwhile, Simin insisted that the calls from her ex were “continuous and persistent.” On top of that, she said the threats coming from Mau have left her feeling “immense stress and fear.” She’s hopeful for a restraining order of her own at a hearing later this month.
