The Baldwins Reality Show Trailer Unveiled: ‘We Found Our Foundation’

Does the world need a reality show about Alec Baldwin and his family? Probably not, but TLC is giving it to us anyway with The Baldwins. The Emmy-winning actor and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, are opening the doors to their home and giving fans an inside look at their life.

The first trailer for the show just dropped, and the love birds are trying to put it all on the table. They’re showing off their army of kids, they’re going to therapy, and yes, they’re opening up about how Alec accidentally fatally shot a woman on the set of his movie.

In the sneak peek, Hilaria introduced her “wild family,” which consists of seven children and six animals. Then, the emotional music started playing. Alec began reflecting on the 2021 shooting, where he killed the cinematographer after firing a prop gun that, for some reason, had a live round in it.

Alec narrowly escaped criminal punishment for the cinematographer’s death. He was charged with involuntary manslaughter twice, but the charges were dismissed. In the trailer for The Baldwins, we see how the ordeal took an intense toll on the family.

“A son lost his mom in the most unthinkable tragedy,” Hilaria remarked. “This is never something to forget, and we are trying to parent through it.”

In another moment, you see Alec burying his face in his hands. He’s either breaking down into tears or channeling his Emmy-winning acting skills. It’s hard to tell — especially because insiders close to the production claimed that the A-list actor had trouble adjusting to the reality TV cameras.

“We’ve found our foundation. We’re solid, and we’re here together,” Hilara emotionally tells Alec in the trailer.

This one-minute trailer was clearly supposed to pull on your heartstrings, but when the show was filming, production insiders called it a “disaster.” Supposedly, Hilaria was the one pushing for this show, and Alec’s “arrogant” behavior made the whole thing difficult. We’ll see if translates on TV.

The Baldwins premieres on Sunday, February 23 at 10/9c on TLC.
