Joe Giudice adapted to life in Nassau after being deported from the United States in 2019. He works in construction and is an amateur fighter. The former Real Housewives of New Jersey star shares glimpses of the aesthetically idyllic lifestyle. But while living in paradise has its perks, Joe is anxious to get back to his family in the States. And he thinks the President might be able to help.
When Joe was deported he ended up with his family in Italy. But he moved to the Bahamas so his children with Teresa Giudice could visit easier. The RHONJ alum is still barred entry from the USA, but he made a recent effort to change his situation.
Joe Giudice has an immigration lawyer “working on something”
Joe appeared on the Wednesday, January 29, episode of Teresa’s podcast Turning The Tables to discuss the failed attempt to regain entry.
“I got a lawyer working on something, but she’s been working on it. Hasn’t done anything yet. So I don’t know. We’ll see,” Joe said. “I did get in front of the embassy and they denied me because I guess I’m a big criminal.”
Joe hired an attorney after paying a “bunch of money” to get an appointment at the US Embassy in Nassau. His application to regain status was denied by the consular officer. Joe told Teresa that he was in line behind “a club owner” who “really looked like a criminal.”
The consular officer took “not even five minutes” with Joe’s application before denying it. The former reality TV star still cannot travel to the United States.
“You know what? The hell with this crap I’m done,” he said, deciding to get legal help.
Joe thinks Trump “should get me back”
A fan asked Joe if he considered appealing to Donald Trump for help with his case. He believes there is hope.
“When I met Trump, I mean, he was very nice to me,” Joe recalled. “I was very nice to him when we were on his show over there. I mean, I think he should get me back.”
But it’s not all bad news. Nassau feels “pretty close to home” as it’s “kind of Americanized.” As per Joe, there are a lot of “American people here.” Also, there was no language barrier to deal with.
“Everywhere you go, everybody speaks English here. I know how to read the language. Everything here is just regular English,” he explained. “I know how to talk here. [In] Italy, I knew how to talk, but I didn’t know how to read.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey is streaming on Peacock.
