If you’re like me, you might have thought this moment would never come. But finally, after months of anticipation, the Real Housewives of Atlanta are back. Back on the small screen are some familiar faces, including Porsha Williams, Drew Sidora, and Phaedra Parks.

The “Gone with the Wind fabulous” Kenya Moore was slated as a full-time cast member, but only time will tell if she was completely edited out. She and Brittany Eady did not interact well, resulting in the beauty queen’s firing. Shamea Morton and Kelli Ferrell are joining as a full-time Housewives. Rounding out the cast is Cynthia Bailey as a ‘friend of.’

The RHOA newbies are coming in hot

Shamea is the new girl on the block, but Real Housewives of Atlanta viewers have been watching her for years. In her intro, she tells the cameras, “Why play the underdog when I can outshine the best of them.” It sure looks like Shamea will be the head peach between her Gucci tracksuits and in-house elevator.

Brit is serving “Barbie” and isn’t afraid to make a splash in the trailer. At the same time, Kelli is spicy and has her sights laser-focused on Porsha. The trailer shows the two ladies at lunch discussing their shared trolling antics. Kelli vogues while telling P, “I was giving you what you were coming for.” One thing is for sure: this trailer is all about the “money, money, money.” And even Kenya makes an appearance.

Porsha Williams is open about her divorce

Earlier in the month, Bravo leaked a sneak peek of season 16. The clip showed Porsha entering her very familiar divorce attorney’s office. The mother of one is going through a rough time but hasn’t lost her humorous spirit. In her confessional, Porsha notes that “it’s definitely crazy having to call Randy again and say ‘I got to file for divorce.” Porsha has been going through the motions of her separation from Simon Guobadia for months, and it hasn’t been pretty. Porsha admits that she hasn’t dealt with the emotional part.

The trailer shows Porsha in all her glory. The newly single ATL native is about enjoying life’s finer things, including a few lap dances. But sh*t gets real as her mother openly discusses Simons’s “scamming and defrauding.” As Porsha cries, she notes, “It makes you wonder how much of it was real.”

The idea of sisterhood is still up for debate

The Real Housewives of Atlanta girls’ trip is to Grenada, and the holiday looks epic. “The best part of a girls’ trip is the comradery,” notes Kelli. But no sooner had she mentioned sisterhood than the trailer cuts to Porsha cutting Kelli off during a meal, which in turn ruffles feathers. To make matters worse, the entire fight happens right before the Prime Minister arrives. Perfect timing, ladies! I will say these women certainly run in the right circles.

As the trailer highlights a few more fights, Porsha wisely notes, “This is the Real Housewives of Atlanta.” She adds, “You should be ready whenever because you already know it’s coming.” However, these sentiments might have been before Porsha discovered that her baby daddy, Dennis McKinley, was serving as Drew’s executive producer. This certainly feels like a conflict of interest. Tensions hit an all-time high as Dennis says, “You think I’m sleeping with Drew?” To which Porsha replies, “Yes or no?”

Kenya Moore’s bad decision is a storyline

Perhaps the most exciting bit of the Real Housewives of Atlanta trailer is that Bravo has chosen to keep the altercation between Kenya and Brit off the cutting room floor. Kenya’s voice can be heard saying, “Who is this hoe? Brit Eady is her name.” One can only imagine this is at the same time that she revealed blown-up photos of Brit performing a sexual act. The cast is naturally appalled. Cynthia tells the cameras, “It couldn’t go any lower.” Yet, we know it does.

While holding court, Porsha notes, “That was Kenya’s choice to twirl on down to hell.” Kelli adds, “I don’t think she came back out.” However, that is not the only juicy drama. Porsha hints that she has heard a few rumors about Charles Oakley, Angela’s husband. And we all know nobody appreciates when the husbands are talked about. Friendships will be tested, especially between BFFs Porsha and Shamea. Needless to say, the drama is not lacking for Season 16.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta is available to stream on Peacock.
