Season 5 of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City has slapped since the premiere. The women rallied together and made sure to bring about one of the best seasons yet. A personal best if you ask me. As we get ready to hunker down for what will inevitably be quite the three-part reunion, I want to take a look back at some of the funniest moments from the season.
Who wears white to RHOSLC ziplining?
While I love a good Real Housewives rope course, I don’t think white is appropriate attire. But I’ll look past white after Labor Day any day of the week when Mary Cosby chooses to participate. Gone are the days of the preacher sitting inside the Sprinter van drinking a cold Starbucks and McDonald’s fish sandwich. This season’s high ropes trust exercise showed the women making some headway in their friendships. But the MVP must be Mary and her slew of funny one-liners. She first noted that Meili Workman wasn’t as skinny as she thought.
Not to be outdone, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City viewers learned that Whitney Rose used to give under-the-work desk hand jobs. I’m sure that little kernel of information had nothing to do with Justin Rose being fired. As the women zipped through the trees, Mary couldn’t help but be hit with some of Mother Nature’s love, i.e., flying dirt. She took it like a champ and most likely learned her lesson about wearing couture outdoors.
The RHOSLC Laverne and Shirley Milwaukee trip
Say it with me guys: “Schlemiel, Schlimazel, Hasenpfeffer Incorporated!” The first cast trip of Season 5 was to the famed city of Milwaukee. There, Lisa Barlow raged at Bronwyn Newport during their VIP Bucks game. However, the fact that these women could teeter-totter all over the court in their heels for a few photos was commendable. The other big news from the trip was that Britani Bateman’s Sister Wives boyfriend, Jared Osmond, might be two-timing her.
But the real gem of the trip was the ladies’ trip to the Miller Brewery. It was there, underground beneath the caves that Heather Gay and Whitney tried their best to honor Laverne and Shirley. They did the dance and everything. But the comic relief came when Mary tried beer for the first time. During the taste test, Mary enquires “Are you familiar with champagne, though?” To which the guide replies, “Well, this is the champagne of beers.” To everyone’s surprise, Mary likes it, but don’t think she is ditching her 2003 Dom Perignon for Miller. In her confessional, she shares, “I had no clue there was an ‘upscale’ beer!”
Britani Bateman shares a big secret
Britani found herself knee-deep in trouble after she was outed for recording the ladies while they had a massive fight. You would think that Britani trying to fumble her way through explaining her lack of savvy regarding the iPhone would have been the funny part. And while it was fun to watch her squirm as she changed her lies multiple times that wasn’t the highlight.
The highlight came later in the evening after Britani spent the day in a waterfall as she washed away the drama of crying on the bus. The ladies had sat down for dinner in Mexico but who knew the appetizer would be skewered Britani. She finally cracked and told the ladies that the only thing she had ever “lied” about was the fact that she had been sleeping with Jared. Mary, without missing a beat, noted, “We all knew that. You didn’t need to come out with that.”
Lisa Barlow’s lunch of minions
In an attempt to cheer Lisa up, Heather planned a lunch only Lisa could love. Everyone dressed in their best Lisa attire and even wore wigs. The Queen of Sundance waltzed up to the hostess noting, “Hi, I have a reservation for eight Lisas,” to which all eight Lisas chimed in “Hiiiiiiiiii….” When I say I almost died of laughter. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast are just so good at making fun of themselves. The group’s comedian, Whitney, kept the tags on her Tom Ford outfit as she paid homage to rumors of Lisa being known to return her clothes.
Mary shows up late for Bat Mitzvah
What a classic moment for Season 5. Meredith Marks had been on a religious journey and was finally performing her bat mitzvah. However, Mary wasn’t sure she was going to attend until the last minute. The two frenemies had been going through a rough patch, but in the end, the preacher decided to be a bigger person. However, Mary arrived super late. To add insult to injury, she couldn’t find the right door to enter through. What we got was a very confused Mary peeking through the windows, leaving everyone mumbling in the crowd.
