Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9 has been as explosive as it is entertaining. Mia Thornton will always provide her own brand of mess that we can’t help but watch. Plus, newbies like Stacey Rusch have seemingly blended in with OGs like Gizelle Bryant. Oh, and then there’s Karen Huger’s DUI. There’s a lot to unpack.
Bravo released the first trailer for the upcoming RHOP reunion that teases a little bit of everything. Karen’s absence is made loud and clear in the teaser, and that’s not just because the women have a framed photo of her on the couch. Mia and Stacey also find themselves in the hot seat while Wendy Osefo is determined to hold everyone accountable. Bring it on.
“Elephant in the room”
The trailer begins with the “elephant in the room” of Karen’s absence, as Andy Cohen put it. They tease a tearful video message from Karen to the ladies following her guilty verdict. Most of the women were crying at the sight of Karen so scared. “Having seen that? It all adds up and now I can confidently say, that is not my friend,” Wendy said. My, how the tables have turned.
The crew agreed that Karen wouldn’t do well in jail. “Like, you can’t wear your wig,” Gizelle quipped. The Karen talk didn’t stop there. Wendy later claimed that she heard from some person that Karen goes into some establishment and gets drunk “every day.” Yikes.
Then, Ashley Darby chimed in to reveal her own rumor about Karen. Apparently, a journalist reached out to Ashley to claim that someone fled the scene of Karen’s accident. “Her boyfriend,” Mia said matter-of-factly. What would the Grand Dame think of this?
Mia’s mini-breakdown
Mia didn’t have it easy in the trailer either. The entire crew had something to say about Mia and her messy relationships and, particularly, her tendency for lying. Later, Andy is seen consoling Mia in her dressing room.
“There’s nothing worse than, like a shame spiral and I feel like you’re in one,” Andy said. Some fans can’t help but feel like this is just the beginning of Mia’s problems at the upcoming reunion. Unfortunately for her, Karen wasn’t there to take some of the direct heat off of her own problems.
The Real Housewives of Potomac reunions kicks off Sunday, Feb. 16 at 8/7c on Bravo.
