Last week on Southern Charm, JT started to make his way back to the group. After fishing with Craig and Shep, he held the afterparty for Molly’s concert. However, the self-proclaimed arbiter of truth alienated people by revealing that Gaston cheated on his former girlfriend with Salley. Taylor stormed out, Salley got upset, and Craig regretted giving JT a chance. But Venita was the opposite of upset, gushing to Leva that JT looked “yummy” while this was going on. At the end of the night, Venita was the only one JT wanted to see. Here’s what happened this week on Southern Charm Season 10 Episode 8, “Red Flags”.
What happened on Southern Charm Season 10 Episode 8?
This week, Madison and Shep try to mediate Craig and Austen’s divorce. Shep also deals with some mixed signals from Sienna. That’s not the only reason people question if Miss Bahamas really likes him. Meanwhile, JT and Venita finally admit their friendship is flirty, but does that mean love is in the air?
Madison wants to Parent Trap Austen and Craig
This week’s episode starts with Craig meeting Madison. She makes him eat a little crow about JT. After the concert party, Craig is back off of Team JT. Madison says she felt betrayed when he gave JT a chance because of how close she and Craig are.
And speaking of that, she wants to bring him and Austen back together. She can’t help but want the best for Austen, reflecting on how far they’ve come (cue the clip, you know the one). She sees that Austen is hurt about the friendship divorce, and urges Craig to keep an open mind.
Leva (and JT’s mom) ship him and Venita
When JT calls his mom, she asks how his “fiancé” Venita is. Turns out, those two texted, and Venita sent her a message for Mother’s Day. As his mom gushes over her, JT calls Venita a “shining star” while his mom says she’s a “tiger.” JT knows he and Venita have chemistry, but they’ve never addressed it.
Venita has Leva over, and her giddiness betrays her. It’s official, she like likes JT. Leva brings up how Venita called him “yummy” last week. She would love to see them together, and jokes with a blushing Venita that he’s probably a passionate lover. Venita thinks she likes JT because he’s a boy version of her. She likes to make the first move, so she takes the initiative and invites him to dinner.
Molly and Salley talk surgery and Shep
As they meet for drinks and “weirdly good” pretzels, Molly and Salley talk injections and boob jobs. The standout Season 10 newbies are hilarious and blunt and I’d love to see more one-on-one scenes with them. Salley got implants to please her ex-fiancé and is getting them out. Molly said she had a fat transfer to hers, which is not something I knew you could do. Molly jokes she’s had no complaints.
Salley brings up Shep, adding he’s better looking now than when she hooked up with him. Despite her past with Shep, Salley ships him with Molly, saying they’d make beautiful babies. She’s not the only one in the friend group shipping them either. Molly reveals that Ryan attempted to play matchmaker. At the concert, he told Shep that Molly thought he was handsome at Patricia’s Easter gathering. But Molly doesn’t want to come off desperate, especially since Shep is with Sienna.
Shep and Sienna have trouble in paradise
Speaking of, the cracks are showing in Shep’s current relationship. Shep tells Austen that after Sienna got back from Africa, he didn’t hear from her for a few days. When she did respond, she said she had a lot going on.
Austen reminds Shep he hasn’t spent that much time with Sienna, chalking it up to “six weekends.” He’s thrown off to see Shep drop the l-bomb in a text. In a confessional, he says it’s humanizing to see this side of Shep.
Shep also admits that he’s paranoid Sienna has another guy. Austen advises Shep to ghost Sienna back instead of texting her more. He even tells Shep that she might come around if she doesn’t hear from him after a week. Austen shouldn’t be giving advice about this, I have to say.
Madison and Patricia’s gossip sesh sleepover
With Whitney out of town, Patricia invites Madison over for a fabulous slumber party. Wearing incredible pajamas (and in Pat’s case, sequined kitty slippers) they drink champagne and eat caviar in a canopy bed. Talk about a dream sleepover! Invite me next time, ladies!
The girls also quickly get to gossiping. Madison tells her she met Sheps girlfriend Sienna at Rodrigo’s dog’s birthday party. She was taken aback when Sienna mentioned her grandma runs a Southern Charm fan group. Patricia, who always has the best gossip, shares that Sienna approached Whitney on Raya before Shep. She wanted to tell Shep, but Whitney told her not to tell anyone. Then he probably shouldn’t have told her, she jokes. A shocked Madison adds that she thought it was odd Sienna mentioned wanting to hang out with the girls. They question if Sienna has ulterior motives and joke she’s a stalker.
Craig makes Austen an offer he can refuse
Craig decided to use Shep as a mediator to facilitate a divorce. He’s going to offer Austen $30,000 to sign over their podcast. On the way over, he reminds Shep that only one of them hooked up with Taylor. He also gives Shep some advice about Sienna. Shep admits Craig is probably more equipped for relationship advice than Austen.
Austen thought it was going to be a one-on-one. So he’s already not pleased to see Shep brought in as Craig’s buffer. Austen remarks that those two never arrived places together before all this. Craig says the three of them hanging out is “awesome” and sorely missed.
Trying to facilitate a discussion, Craig says he’s “like the guy from The Godfather.” Then admits he’s never seen it. Yeah, I got that from your lack of impression, quoted line, or using a character’s name, Craig. Shep jokes that Paige probably had to watch it at her Italian version of a bat mitzvah. I’m only part Italian, but I will agree it’s a right of passage to watch The Godfather with your family at the holidays. But also, guys, it’s on TV all the time.
Once they get down to business, it goes south. Austen wasn’t even thinking about the podcast. He wants to mend their friendship. Craig maintains he did nothing wrong at their poolside meeting. Austen counters that, the next week, he was excluded from a party. Shep isn’t a great mediator. He and Austen repeat their feelings that Craig puts on a show for the sake of his business. Craig says they can accept who he is now or not.
Both Shep and Austen think Craig needs to be less stubborn and listen to constructive criticism. Austen also claims he doesn’t want Craig to go back to drinking heavily. He just wants Craig to cut out quality time for his friends. But Craig repeats how busy he is. Basically, the conversation goes nowhere, and the guys are stuck where they were before.
Venita and JT sitting in a tree?
Because she takes initiative in her love life, Venita invites JT over to her place for the first time. She admits to realizing she had feelings for JT back at last season’s reunion. But she was still with Manny then.
Once he arrives, JT mentions multiple times how much his mom wants him to marry Venita. He’s blown away by how chic her house is. Her dinner is delicious, and she shows the thought she put into her meal choice for him. He gushes that he’s extremely attracted to her. Venita says she can’t stop smiling.
Just then, JT abruptly ends the rom-com moment by revealing he’s seeing someone. Venita had a feeling he was dating but didn’t know it was serious. She is firm that she’s not going to be the other woman. JT says he wouldn’t like her if she was. The smile wiped off her face, Venita now questions why JT would be so flirty with her when he had a girlfriend. I’m wondering the same, Venita! And thus, the shipping of these two is over. And the friendship might be too.
