Below Deck Alum Kate Chastain Shows off Gorgeous New Home

Kate Chastain was, arguably, already living her best life before she moved into her latest home. But in the new space, the Below Deck alum is in her element with her son Sullivan Cay by her side.

The reality TV star reignited her career with The Traitors after a long run as chief stew on Below Deck. Now, Kate took all those professional wins and bought the forever home of her dreams.

Kate “gets to reap the benefits” of a stylish renovation

Kate shared pictures of the “perfect” home exclusively with Bravo’s The Daily Dish in a phone interview. It’s closer to family and friends, with the distance something a golf cart could handle. Below Deck Season 3 star Connie Arias is in town as well. And the reality TV star is now neighbors with her best friend. Having local “Built-in babysitters” is a huge plus, of course.

The “historic, beautiful home” has character as it is a “hundred-year-old” historic building. Kate fell in love with its charm immediately.

“I think what makes this house special is I’m not a person who likes modern interior design. Like [Below Deck alum] Ben Robinson, for example, loves modern. I feel like it’s cold and too perfect,” she shared.

Kate continued, “I like something with a little personality, a little imperfections. [It] makes it interesting and beautiful. I’m just really happy.”

It’s lucky that the previous owners’ decor appealed to Kate as well because they put a lot of expense into extensive renovations.

“To have them already done that, it feels like I hired an interior designer before I even knew it,” the Below Deck alum said. “I love her style. She did the work and then I get to reap the benefits.”

However, the renovations fell short in the backyard. While the space features an outdoor entertaining area, there is no pool.

“It’s got landscaping with the vines and you can’t buy that, so I’m just in love with it,” Kate explained. “But there is a section where I’m thinking I would like to put in a plunge pool, because in Florida, especially, it’s very hot. And my dream home, it was always going to have a pool.”

Sullivan’s bedroom was also get a makeover. Kate is going for a “traditional” and “charming” look.

“I’m thinking probably like, red and blue stripes,” she shared.

Buying the forever home for her family was the most important for the Bravolebrity. And Kate is keen to make some mommy memories in the new space.

“Especially now that Sullivan’s getting older, I’m really excited to do a little height chart on his door frame,” Kate said. “Cause I know we’re gonna be here for that many years to chart his growth, so that’s just really exciting and moving is exhausting so I’m happy to not be doing that for a long time.”
