Erin Lichy had a very difficult sophomore season on The Real Housewives of New York. She was dealing with ill parents at the time of filming, and facing the drastic reality of losing her beloved father. Not only that, but Erin had some tense moments with husband Abe Lichy.
Erin spoke of a “betrayal” earlier in the season, however it had to do with finances rather than anything scandalous. Abe previously sold off their bitcoin. It was a point of contention for the RHONY star. But the couple seemingly pulled through the crisis.
Now, the expectant mother is sharing an update on her and Abe’s relationship.

The deeper issue for Erin was that Abe sold the bitcoin without her input. The Bravolebrity felt infantilized. She explained as much during the January 28 episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast.
“There were financial decisions, basically, that he made without telling me because he wanted to protect me like I’m some little innocent baby [who] doesn’t know about anything,” Erin said. “I do get it, and I do understand it.”
It wasn’t the first time Abe and Erin had struggled over finances. They opened a handbag company called FrameworK, which went out of business. It put the couple “into debt.” And Abe, for one, lost focus on his legal profession.
“I think what happened was, we had this business together. He was on a great track working at Kasowitz [Benson Torres LLP], but then we had this business that he was working on with me, and it took away from him really focusing,” Erin said. “And he ended up leaving.”
She continued, “Like, the classic American horrible story where a business fails and you lose everything. There were just extra things that he still was managing, that was like his department, that he just hadn’t cleared up. And he just kept rolling it over.”
But when business is good, the couple is thriving. Their “artisanal mezcal” company is a success. Clearly, Abe and Erin took what they learned from the handbag lined and made the best of it.
“We are good and we are solid,” she revealed. “We, god willing, will always be.”
But Abe isn’t completely off the hook. Erin will be keeping her eye on her husband when it comes to investing.
“He better not make any financial decisions without me, I can tell you that much,” she joked.
