Jennifer Lopez Recalls Super Bowl With Shakira in BTS Video

Jennifer Lopez has recently been reflecting on some cherished Super Bowl memories. The singer shared a throwback video of her and Shakira‘s backstage interaction after their joint halftime performance at the Super Bowl 2020 or Super Bowl LIV. Celebrating the latest anniversary of the historic event, Lopez shared some behind-the-scenes photos and videos from the event on her Instagram Stories. Alongside a record-breaking viewership, the performance also remains a fond memory for the artists as well as their fans. 

Jennifer Lopez shares throwback video with Shakira during Super Bowl

On the occasion of the Super Bowl 2025, Jennifer Lopez took to her Instagram to share some fond memories of her performance at the Super Bowl LIV in 2020. The throwback included behind-the-scenes clips that would transport her fans back to her iconic performance. One of the videos was a shoutout to fellow Latina artist Shakira as the two appeared to reflect on their halftime show performance. 

The Super Bowl 2020 was the first time two female performers shared the halftime show. The throwback video that Lopez shared on her Instagram Stories featured the two singers — both in their performance fits — smiling and giving each other a high-five. They seemingly showered compliments on each other while their team cheered on the successful joint appearance. 

On February 2, 2020, Shakira and Jennifer Lopez gave an electrifying performance at the Super Bowl LIV in Miami. The former started the halftime show and danced to some of her hit numbers, including “She Wolf,” “Empire,” and “Whenever, Wherever.” Lopez followed it up with her rendition of “Jenny From the Block,” “Waiting for Tonight,” and “Love Don’t Cost a Thing,” among others. The show also marked appearances by Bad Bunny and J. Balvin. 

According to Variety, the 15-minute set drew in a total of 103 million viewers on Fox. NFL’s YouTube video of their performance has garnered over 300 million views as of this writing. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez also shared BTS snippets of her performance and a shoutout to the numerous showstopping Versace outfits share wore throughout the show.
