It’s the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills divorce support group. With Kyle Richards and Teddi Mellencamp both dealing with emotional separations, it’s no wonder that the two friends are leaning on each other. And it’s going as far as spending some time living together.
Kyle has been separated from Mauricio Umansky since October 2023. They are in discussion to potentially sell their Encino family home. Meanwhile, Teddi has legal issues to iron out with Edwin Arroyave regarding their three children Slate, Cruz, and Dove from their split in November 2024.
Kyle Richards joked about having “shared custody” with Teddi Mellencamp
Kyle revealed on Bravo’s Hot Mic Podcast that Teddi comes to spend time at her house a few nights a week.
“I have shared custody with Teddi Mellencamp. She lives with me on Tuesdays and Wednesdays,” the RHOBH veteran told host Alex Baskin.
The situation works to complement Teddi and Edwin’s living arrangement. The co-parents rotate nights at their family home in order to avoid uprooting their children. So Teddi asked Kyle if she could crash at her house while she finds a more permanent residence.
“Why wouldn’t you just stay here?” Kyle asked. “Why would you go spend the money? I mean, I have a big house, I have a guest house. That’s silly. So that’s how that started.”
On the new season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle expressed feeling lonely at home now that her daughters are grown. So having Teddi over has to be comforting.

Kyle joked that Teddi gravitated towards “the divorce room,” despite having several bedrooms to choose from. Kyle slept there when her separation was fresh. Since then, Mauricio moved out into a bachelor pad.
“It was supposed to be like, one day there’s gonna be babies up there,” Kyle joked. “We’re like, no, it’s the divorce room.”
Kyle told Alex Baskin about “the night that the winds were so scary and the fires were starting.” Teddi needed comfort and the friends ended up snoozing in the same bed.
“I’m sorry to share that Teddi, but she literally sounded like a little girl crying,” she joked.
In all seriousness, Teddi previously posted about dealing with “raging anxiety.” And Kyle agreed that “everything” was overwhelming for her friend at the time.
“It was her marriage, the fires [were] going on, being on edge of the evacuations,” the former child star recalled.

However, despite the emotions, the friends were able to laugh at the “absurdity of the situation.”
“We literally sat there and we could not stop laughing. I mean, if people could see us in our like, our little basically footsie pajamas,” Kyle said during the podcast.
The RHOBH ladies got to be a little silly together. They both had limited lip movements due to a lip flip procedure using Botox.
“We were crying, laughing, and we were trying to whistle and I was like, whistling is not an option anymore!” Kyle shared. “We were just up laughing all night and you know, just to have those moments when we’re going through what we’re going through right now is just, you know, it really is helpful.”
For now, the Bravolebrity is focusing on friendships that bring her positivity and support. And the fallout has been losing some relationships along the way, although it was never an issue of choosing “a side,”
“I joke that my circle’s gotten so small it’s a dot now,” she said.
Kyle continued, “When you’re struggling, you know, I’m like, I’m not good company. I’m not gonna go out tonight. Plus, you do start, you know, certain people you start trusting a little less; I don’t wanna share as much with them. I don’t know. You do definitely become a little less trusting of people.”
