Paige DeSorbo is being targeted as the villain in her breakup with Craig Conover. There is a percentage of Southern Charm fans that seem to be rallying around the show’s famed star as the wronged party. But the former couple’s friends are thankfully much more objective and are checking in on both Paige and Craig. Their Southern charm co-star, Leva Bonaparte, is one of them.
Craig did not help matters when he chose not to respond to rumors that Paige cheated on him. Moreover, he said Paige wanted “other people.” Her Bravolebrity friends, including Amanda Batula, came to her defense. Now, Leva is speaking out against the backlash.
Leva Bonaparte “checked in” on both Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo post-breakup
The Southern Hospitality star “checked in” on both of her friends after news of their split. As per an interview with Page Six, Leva didn’t personally speak to Craig before they filmed the Southern Charm reunion last week. She did, however, send a text. He “hearted” in response.
“I was like, ‘Hey, I just want to let you know that I want to make sure that you’re OK. Like, I’m here. I hope you’re recovering well,’” Leva explained.
The Republic Garden & Lounge owner is shocked by all the “negative” comments against Paige. She reached out to the fashion contributor to make sure she was ok.
“I don’t ever like to see like a girl being dragged, and so I was like, ‘I hate that anything feels negative to you, but also like hope you’re doing well, you’re both going to do great. You’re allowed to make a decision. You’re allowed to change your mind about things or move on from things,'” the Southern Hospitality boss revealed.
Leva hopes fans will “give them grace”
Leva does not feel that Paige made many missteps in this very public split. Rather, the Bravolebrity praised the Summer House star as “very mature and very graceful” for how she’s handled herself.
“Marriage is the biggest decision of your life –– the biggest decision,” Leva shared. “This is a person you’re partnering on life with, so I encourage people to make the right decision, and I encourage everyone having an opinion about it to allow people to make the right decision.”
Leva hopes fans can “give them grace” at this time. She added, “no one’s navigating breakups perfectly.”
“It’s never anyone’s best self in a breakup,” Leva concluded. “You can attempt, but also, it’s very hard in a breakup. The smallest thing can feel triggering, because you’re both hurt. The person who decides to walk away is probably very hurt – and the person who maybe wasn’t sure that they should break up. Either way, feelings are very heightened, right?”
