As we know, you can’t please everyone at the same time in the Bravoverse. Viewers have been die-hard fans since the inception of multiple shows. So we have opinions. None ring truer than when it comes time to dissect the current season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The women have always had to carry their diamonds high and continue to earn them over multiple episodes. However, some followers feel that the newest installment is a bit boring, but I think they couldn’t be more wrong.
The RHOBH Season 14 midseason trailer is giving life
Okay, I will concede that the storyline surrounding Kyle Richards has been exacerbated. But I really think the drama is going to heat up with Sutton Stracke. After watching the midseason trailer it feels like everyone is turning on Sutton. First, she seemingly calls Dorit Kemsley out of her name. In a lunch scene hosted by the Beverly Beach founder, she yells, “You’re such a b*tch.” Dorit is not about to take that insult lying down and quips, “Don’t call me a b*tch in my home, for f*cks sake!”
“You need to pick on somebody else whose wallet fits.” What? What does this insult even mean, Sutton? Erika Jayne asks, “You think you’re bigger than her?” To which Sutton notes, “I think my wallet is.” I can only assume Sutton is targeting Kyle or Dorit during this conversation. Whatever is going on, the socialite is activated and letting everyone who has ever wronged her have it. Honestly, I am all about the mess and sassy Sutton. It’s about time she stood up for herself and left the meek, rich girl behind. Go, Sutton! But I think the feeling of empowerment will be short-lived as Sutton is shown being verbally eviscerated in another scene. This time, the women are in St. Lucia on a boat as Erika notes, “You pose as a friend and oftentimes work as an enemy.”
Dorit Kemsley’s rage is taking over
Even though Dorit has always tried to put on a happy face, there is nothing happy about her separation from PK Kemsley. The first half of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 14 has shown the mother of two fighting an uphill battle. But now she is a woman on the edge as she is no longer communicating with her husband. And has had to deal with meme-gate thanks to a shady Kyle. How anyone was snoozing through this storyline is beyond me. But it’s all about the heat-up.
I’d argue that Dorit has been an open book regarding her separation. And even though she might be painting PK into a corner, she seems to be exposing everything: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Dorit tells the cameras, “If he wants a divorce, we are getting a divorce.” Then, while at a dinner roundtable with the women, she shares, “There’s a law in California…” to which Erika adds, “Community property, you get half. He’s been trying to divorce you before ten years.” The women looked shocked, with Bozoma Saint John replying, “Oh, hell no!” So as a fan, if you’re invested in anything, pick Dorit’s storyline because sh*t is about to get real for her.
RHOBH is about the heat up
Even though, as a fan, Season 14 has been entertaining thus far, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast has a lot to prove to the majority of their followers. Currently, the cast’s saving grace is Jennifer Tilly and Boz. Who knew Jennifer was such a rich b*tch! But the actor is also funny. She often has tried to lighten the mood by cracking jokes. Lest we forget, she warned the masseuse at Boz’s house about the drama that would come within a 30-minute time frame. Both women have been great new additions. Boz isn’t afraid to speak her mind, and Jennifer shows that the series can be fun again.
The cast is embracing the dynamic change, but it is taking a hot second. Season 14 will have its twists and turns just like any other season before. Personally, I’ve enjoyed watching Garcelle Beauvais show off her beach home since it gives her such a sense of pride. I have even liked how Kyle has had to be held accountable this season. No longer is she sliding by with her producer credit like years before. I do wish the mother of four was giving more when it came to her split with Mauricio Umansky but I think fans need to reside themselves to never knowing the true story behind their separation. So, while some fans are claiming the season is a snoozefest, I say perk up! Grab some coffee because it’s all about to get very real in Beverly Hills.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is available to stream on Peacock.
