Opinion: If Sold on SLC Returns, the Entire Cast Should Come Back

Season 1 of Sold on SLC was messy. The drama surprised me, as only five agents and their boss, Jennifer Yeo, starred in this series. However, it only takes two to tango. And tango they all did.

Sold on SLC aimed to feature the luxurious for-sale residences of Salt Lake City. Instead, we got a few open houses and an annoying storyline involving a male who likes strip clubs and gossip. But to be clear, he did not enjoy it when the whispers spoke of him.

We only got eight episodes in Season 1, and five of them dealt with the fallout of this mess. By Episode 8, many of us were borderline done with this series. Watching a man smirk and deflect gave us the ick, but thankfully, Jennifer now understands what the audience has been seeing this entire time: Matt Jones needs a spanking, and not from a stripper, from her.

We are also open to alternative forms of discipline. We do not want to tempt Matt again with our threats of a reasonable time.

Due to her opened eyes, we have an opinion. All five agents must return in Season 2 to wrap up their storylines from Season 1. Likewise, we need one final attempt to weed out the winners from the whiners on Sold on SLC.

We need to see how Tyna Edwards is doing at her new brokerage

Tyna Edwards gave us a solid commitment to comedic commentary in Season 1. Tyna also spoke her mind and knew her worth, which is why her scenes with Matt were frustrating. In Episode 1, Matt admitted that Tyna made him weary simply because she left the LDS Church. But when Tyna learned he was saying so much more about this to the streets, she had no choice but to confront Matt, who waved her away like a housefly.

Matt never apologized to Tyna. Worse, Jennifer failed to admonish Matt for the first seven episodes of Season 1. Cue Tyna, admitting many times that she might need to jump ship for a safer brokerage. And by the end of Episode 8, we learned that Tyna had done this very thing.

Tyna now works with Chris, the husband of Sarah Martindale, at Real Brokerage. Now, in my humble, correct opinion, the cameras need to branch out from Presidio and film Tyna in her newest natural habitat because her real estate and personal storylines have only just begun.

We also need to see how Sarah Martindale and Malaysia Fua are continuing to navigate the waters at Presidio

Sarah and Malaysia Fua also must return to Season 2 of Sold on SLC. Alongside Tyna, these girls called out hypocrisies while snagging listings like it was easy. They were fun to root for. But when their feelings broke over their lack of support at Presidio, I hated it.

Matt gossiped about Sarah and her marriage. Then, Matt decided to utilize the blame game toward Malaysia, claiming she allegedly set him up, which was weird. This mess only got dirtier once Nicole got involved, which Matt seemed to love. Matt also loved how Jennifer tried to silence their chatters, as bad self-narratives are not his bag.

Thankfully, Jennifer ended Season 1 with a better understanding of their frustrations. However, they still lost Tyna, which makes us question how much Jennifer genuinely course-corrected once their cameras went down in Utah. As her only remaining female agents in this series, Sarah and Malaysia must return to Season 2 of Sold on SLC to answer this question.

Kenny Sperry peeled back a traumatic layer of his life in Season 1, and we want to hear more in Season 2

Kenny Sperry had an average Season 1 showing. He stuck up for Matt and helped weave together the set-up storyline against Malaysia. Kenny also discussed his negative feelings about various agents with Jennifer, who loved her little narc (until he told her to chill).

Thankfully, Kenny knows how to apologize. He also knows that Tyna is not a threat. As Season 1 progressed, Kenny began opening up to Tyna, and their bond broke our hearts. Both of these humans are victims of childhood sexual assault, and as their tears flowed, we all remembered that this series contains real people with real stories.

For Kenny and his family, my grace is now sky-high. I want him back in Season 2, where I hope to see Kenny continuing to open up on Bravo.

Jennifer Yeo made some mistakes with her agents, but Season 2 can determine how changed she is

Jennifer has her work cut out for her. At the start of this new series, she was sure she was standing on the right side of history. But by the end of Season 1, Jennifer realized her trust was in the wrong hands. Jennifer always assumed Matt was holding himself accountable and that maybe the ladies were just being harsh for harshness’s sake, but after Matt pulled this same game on her, she clocked her wrongness with a deep, painful sigh.

If this series returns for another season, Jennifer has to be attached anyway, as she is the boss. But we hope to see more than just the same ole thing out of Jennifer. Instead, we need a changed, neutral version of this leader, or else her series might crash and burn before a Season 3 tries to enter the chat.

Matt Jones failed miserably in Season 1, but he should get a second chance before facing a firing

You have heard of Elf on the Shelf. Now, get ready for God to abandon this entire series because Matt and his wife keep using His name as their justification to quickly brush over their awful storylines, all in the name of forgiveness. But before forgiveness comes apologies, which Matt only offered to his wife, not the ladies he slandered before his messy narrative arrived in this series.

Even still, hear me out. Matt has to come back for Season 2 to apologize to the ones he wronged. But if he presents as the same unapologetic mess as in Season 1, we can start talking about ousting this man before Season 3 arrives, okay? But Matt, BB, we know you need the money, so humble yourself quickly, please, and pull yourself together, as mortgages will not get paid if you keep being so dayum thick-headed on Bravo.

Sold on SLC is streaming on Peacock.
