Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Sutton Stracke and Kyle Richards have a bumpy friendship. They tend to argue, squash that beef, and then squabble again. But after a visit to Augusta, Georgia with Garcelle Beauvais to see Sutton’s mother, Reba, Kyle’s opinion of Sutton has shifted.
Kyle Richards feels that Sutton Stracke “needs validation” in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
Sutton’s mother, Reba, is a feisty, tough cookie. Tamra Judge even called Reba “the new villain” in RHOBH. That is a stretch. However, it is easy to see that both Reba and Sutton have an exacting, perfectionist streak. Still, it was heartbreaking to hear that Sutton just wanted her mother to say that she was proud of her, and loved her.
During The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, Kyle revealed what she learned about Sutton.
“I remember when Sutton was opening her store and she really wanted that validation from her mom and wasn’t getting it,” Kyle stated. “So, just hearing ‘I’m proud of you’ [from Reba] meant so much to Sutton. I can’t imagine what that does psychologically, and if you can’t get that love and affection from home, you would want it from somewhere.”
“I don’t know, I just all of a sudden made a lot of excuses for the things she has done. She’s someone who needs validation,” Kyle explained. “Or attention, maybe.”
Then Kyle referenced one of Sutton’s most memorable moments on RHOBH. Her Season 13 meltdown during Magic Mike. “Maybe her being hurt by, for example, Magic Mike, feeling like she’s being excluded and walking off … I don’t know. I’m not a psychologist,” Kyle said.
“I’m just making a lot of excuses for her and things are just clearer to me. A past cast member had a similar situation, where her mom didn’t say ‘I love you,'” Kyle said. “And I find myself going, ‘Oh, OK. That’s when someone really needs outside validation … Starts with an L.”
Now I’m wondering who that could be. Perhaps Lisa Vanderpump or Lisa Rinna?
