The Traitors Season 3 has given viewers a nail-biting thrill ride. All the players hope to make it to the finale. The Faithfuls who do will split all the money in the prize pot. However, if a Traitor remains, they take all the cash.
Host Alan Cumming selected Big Brother star Danielle Reyes and RuPaul’s Drag Race star Bob the Drag Queen to don the cloak. And he also selected quirky Survivor contestant Carolyn Wiger. So, while the turret seemed full, Alan wasn’t done. He brought in the legendary Boston Rob Mariano as the fourth Traitor.
However, with this many Traitors, the turret was unruly. During a challenge, when Bob mentioned that one of the new players must be a Traitor, Boston Rob took note. After all, he entered the game late with Derrick Levasseur and Wes Bergmann. He ousted Bob at the round table, and when Derrick made the argument that Rob was a Traitor, he was murdered.
Then Boston Rob was finally banished after the evidence piled up against him. With Rob gone, that left two Traitors. So, will Danielle and Carolyn be able to work together on The Traitors Season 3?
Will Carolyn Wiger and Danielle Reyes bond over Boston Rob Mariano’s banishment on The Traitors Season 3?
Both Carolyn and Danielle felt that Boston Rob was a threat to their game. He skillfully targeted people at the round table, and they either had to play along or risk making him angry. When he ousted Bob the Drag Queen, Danielle and Carolyn were furious.
They had a plan in place to take out Ciara Miller or Nikki Garcia. Both ladies were under suspicion after Jeremy Collins was murdered while all three were in coffins. Creepy! And Rob ignored it and did what was best for his game instead.
However, on his way out, Bob pointed the finger at Boston Rob as a fellow Traitor, and that move spelled the end for Rob. It just took a bit longer for everyone else to come to that realization.
Right after Boston Rob was banished, the two remaining Traitors met in the turret. Before they got down to their murderous business, they took a moment to rejoice. Both Carolyn and Danielle could tell the tide was turning and they voted for Rob.
From the beginning, Danielle and Carolyn butted heads over their gameplay. While Carolyn wanted to play the game in a day-to-day fashion, Danielle wanted to map it all out. After all, each action has consequences, right? Meanwhile, Carolyn felt that there were too many moving pieces and shifting scenarios. So, taking it day by day would be the better strategy. In the end, these ladies just view the game differently.
Both Carolyn Wiger and Danielle Reyes betrayed each other on The Traitors Season 3
Earlier in the season, Danielle decided that in order to get rid of Boston Rob, she needed to have a Traitor that she could work with. And she thought that Carolyn wasn’t her perfect partner in the turret. She didn’t trust her. So, Danielle started to put Carolyn’s name out there, hoping that she would be banished at the round table. There is zero trust among the Traitors this season. It is wild.
During Episode 6, when Carolyn discovered that Danielle was floating her name around, she was shocked. And then, she was angry. When Carolyn reached the turret that evening, she had a message for Boston Rob and Danielle.
“There’s nobody that I want to murder other than you two right now,” Carolyn told her fellow Traitors. While Danielle repeatedly said that she would “make it right,” how can she? Carolyn’s name is already out there. And Danielle’s attempt to banish Carolyn had some nasty results.
At the round table, Carolyn said that Wes shouldn’t be banished, but Danielle should. An emotional Carolyn shared how Danielle had been sabotaging their alliance and trying to toss her under the bus. These Traitors are messy! Even Boston Rob, who was busy trying to save himself, was floored by his turret-mates and their drama.
In the end, Carolyn voted for Danielle, and Danielle voted for Rob. However, once Boston Rob was banished during the next episode, the reality was that Carolyn still didn’t trust Danielle. The Big Brother player told her fellow Traitor, “I got you.”
Carolyn replied, “Yeah, but not before Britney [Haynes].” Of course, Danielle and Britney played Big Brother together, and they teamed up on that day’s mission, too. “Right now, my strategy … like, I’m going day by day,” Carolyn said in her confessional. “I’m not an idiot.”
Players are starting to suspect Danielle Reyes on The Traitors Season 3
Danielle’s gameplay has been erratic. In the breakfast room, when the players learned who was murdered, she was always too emotional. Nobody cries that many tears over someone that they barely know. While Danielle thought that she was winning as an actress, the rest of the players were starting to notice that her behavior was over-the-top.
Then, we had the riddle challenge. A player could step forward and answer a riddle. If they were correct, they could place their photo on a wall in one of two spots. At the end of the game, the two players with their photos there would win a shield.
Well, Danielle answered one question correctly. However, instead of giving herself a shield, she decided to give one to Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dolores Catania. That meant that she wasn’t worried about being murdered. Then, after answering her second riddle correctly, she compounded her error by giving Derrick a shield. That was certainly sus and heavily implied that Danielle must be a Traitor.
Finally, going after Carolyn was just a terrible strategy. It made Carolyn furious, hurt her feelings, and led to Carolyn not trusting Danielle.
So, will Danielle and Carolyn be able to work together on The Traitors Season 3? I think they will in the short term. However, Carolyn won’t forget Danielle stabbing her in the back. And with Danielle’s crazy behavior in the castle, I don’t think she has any chance of making it to the finale. I think that Carolyn has a great shot of making it to the prize pot. She is flying under the radar unless Danielle copies Bob the Drag Queen’s move and outs her.
