Boston Rob Reveals What He Might Have Changed During Traitors Season 3

Season 3 of The Traitors got flipped upside down when Boston Rob Mariano got tapped to be a Traitor. He bulldozed his way into the game and took down another Traitor, all while convincing the Faithfuls that he was on their side. It was incredible gameplay, but it wasn’t perfect. If it were perfect, he wouldn’t have been banished in Episode 7.

With that in mind, Rob recently opened up about what he would have changed about his approach to Season 3. Surprisingly, he had some second thoughts about the way he handled Bob the Drag Queen.

The most talked-about moment of Season 3 came when Rob effortlessly took down Bob the Drag Queen in Episode 4. It was the first time we’ve seen another Traitor backstab their teammate so brazenly. Rob knows he changed the game with that move.

“Now every single Traitor in the back of their mind is going to think that another Traitor is trying to set them up. So there are a lot of things about this game that — inevitably because of this season — will be viewed differently,” he recently said in an interview with Us Weekly.

On the show, we saw the moment that Rob realized he needed to take down Bob. The Survivor alum said that watching Bob as a Traitor was like watching a car go off a cliff. He knew he needed to intervene, even though it ultimately hurt his game.

“I stand by what I did. But maybe I wouldn’t have tried to direct the vote to [Bob the Drag Queen] right away, but I did,” Rob admitted. “As soon as I said it, I couldn’t unsay it.”

If Rob kept his mouth shut, he said the vote that week probably would have gone differently. He thought Nikki Garcia or Ciara Miller would have been banished. When he called out Bob, there was no going back, but he put a huge target on his back that he could never fully shake.

He explained, “I feel like once I opened that can of worms, I couldn’t put them back in. Maybe I wouldn’t have said it right away, but I perceived the threat as imminent. The way I play these games, you are with me, or you’re against me, so as soon as I see it, I got to kill you.”

The Traitors continues with new episodes on Peacock every Thursday at 9/8c.
