Even though it has been a few months since Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover announced their breakup, fans are still reeling. And leave it to the Bravoverse to collect all the data and analyze it as if the fate of Real Housewives of New Jersey depends on it. Paige has been open about the split, but for the most part, Craig has kept his cards close to his chest. However, he is finally speaking out at length about his version of how it all went down.

Craig Conover is ready to spill the beans

The Sewing Down South founder recently wore his heart on his sleeve while on Watch What Happens Live. And according to Craig, the breakup was not mutual. “After Thanksgiving, I was in Toronto about to do a show.” He told Andy Cohen that Paige said, “I think we have to break up.” According to Craig, after Thanksgiving, they agreed to “Talk about it. I stayed at the apartment that week. But she wasn’t there. But we were still FaceTiming, and she said, ‘I miss you’ and stuff.” Craig seemed firm in his timeline as he added, “I had no reason to think she was serious. I thought she was having a bad night or a breakdown.”

According to Craig, the duo “had Thanksgiving with her family. But then I went to Toronto for an event, and she called me. But we’ve been together for three years and you know a lot of stuff that we aren’t going to talk about tonight. Plans we had. So when she called and broke up with me, the last thing I was going to do was the next day when I was being interviewed, ‘By the way, I think Paige broke up with me.’ I don’t know. I guess I was still processing.”

Craig Conover isn’t defending Paige Desorbo

When asked if Paige cheated physically or emotionally, Craig said, “I don’t want to be involved.” When Andy pointed out he was, in fact, involved, Craig stated, “No, I’m not. I’m the ex-boyfriend. I’m moving on with my life.” And “I’m not going to get sucked into the moment with them.” Craig fumed, adding, “Her cast is commenting on how I’m grieving. And I’m sorry I’m not reading Reddit every day and getting on there and defending her. Like I never said, ‘You cheated.’ So I’m not a part of this.” The host noted that Amanda Batula said that he should have chimed in. But instead, sent “the dogs after her” because Craig likes sympathy.

“Paige lied on her podcast and said the break up was mutual. I didn’t tell her what to say. I got a text ‘I’m announcing it on my podcast,” revealed the Southern Charm star. “She said it was mutual, which it wasn’t. I didn’t know about it. She called me and told me. It’s been a whirlwind. I’ve been sitting in it. Love is enough. If two people love each other, you’ll make it work.” At this point, Craig told Andy, “We didn’t want different things. She just wanted other people, and that’s fine. Like she didn’t want those things with me anymore. I’m not mad at her for that. I don’t like this love isn’t enough thing cause you’ll make it work.”

Paige DeSorbo has her own version of the breakup

Andy asked what his response was to Paige claiming he acted single while in Aspen. The Southern Charm star responded, “I think she upset a lot of our mutual friends by saying that. The only thing I did in Aspen, a trip she was invited on and had her own bedroom because we didn’t go to the London trip, which I lost a lot of money on, was talk about my breakup because I couldn’t believe it was happening. While on her podcast, Giggly Squad, Paige stated that no one was blindsided, but Craig noted, “Well, we were planning our future together. I had no way. We never fought like I was moving to New York.”

Craig’s entire timeline, for the most part, matches with Paige’s as both agree a conversation took place around Thanksgiving. However, Craig’s inability to defend his former love is causing some commotion amongst fans. Craig also told Andy that during their final conversation, Paige told him, “Look, I love you, but I love myself more.”

I think it’s fair to say there are three sides to the break-up: Craig’s, Paige’s, and the truth. We know that Bravo cameras picked back up after Southern Charm wrapped to catch the aftermath. So now, we wait.

Southern Charm is available to stream on Peacock.
