Here’s how Sabrina Carpenter is supporting Chappell Roan’s fundraising effort
Sabrina Carpenter proved that gestures can only go so far to make a difference. After being visibly moved by Chappell Roan’s call for artist health coverage in her Grammys speech, the singer also took the initiative. According to Roan’s fundraising campaign “We Got You,” Carpenter matched her Island Records labelmate’s first $25K donation towards the initiative.
The campaign “We Got You” is a fundraising partnership between Chappell Roan and the industry non-profit group Backline. The latter aims to provide mental health resources to music industry professionals and their families. The “Pink Pony Club” singer’s initiative hopes to “create a safer and more supported industry for artists to thrive.”
Chappell Roan won the Best New Artist at Grammys 2025. She took to the stage to demand that labels and the industry would offer a “livable wage and healthcare” to developing artists. This call-out received huge applause from the audience, who showcased their support. As the star received a standing ovation, she recalled her struggles after being dropped out during the pandemic.
Roan further said, “Record labels need to treat their artists as valuable employees with a livable wage and health insurance and protection. Labels, we got you, but do you got us?” This speech left a strong impression on the audience. Celebrities like Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Doechii were left visibly emotional.
Meanwhile, the “We Got You” campaign has received many donations, including musician Lauv, who also followed Sabrina Carpenter to match the $25K donation.
