Sold on SLC: What We Hope To See From Jennifer Yeo Next Season

Sold on SLC Season 1 just wrapped. As the finale episode revealed, Jennifer Yeo lost one of her starring agents at Presidio. But, if you watched this new real estate-based series from start to finish, this final plot twist likely shocked you zero. All season long, Jennifer has struggled to land on the right side of the plot, leaving all of her female agents (who star in this series) wondering about their futures at this brokerage.

Tyna Edwards has now exited the chat. And this sucks because we stan Tyna. But, her exit does not solve any of the issues that might still lie ahead in a hopeful Season 2 of this mess. Instead, if Jennifer wants to repair her image and improve team morale, she needs to course-correct, and I have a few ideas about where she can start.

I hope Jennifer Yeo remains neutral at Presidio

Matt Jones stole the spotlight this season. And no, this is not a compliment. Matt presented as a broke, righteous, doting father and husband. But then, we learned that Matt had been blowing his funds at a strip club, and as his marriage started spiraling, Jennifer rushed in to silence any comments about his sins.

As his friend, this was admirable of Jennifer. But long before his lap dance lamentations chapter arrived in this series, Matt had spread equally harmful (albeit untrue) narratives about Tyna, Sarah Martindale, and Malaysia Fua. Unfortunately, Jennifer never silenced Matt. Her hands-off approach with him then came back to bite her in her ass.

Whenever Sarah, Tyna, or Malaysia confronted Matt about his gossipy, untrue statements, he turned his tiny fingers back on them, gaslighting their reactions instead of apologizing for his BS. Then, when their retreat ended poorly, every agent apologized to Jennifer, minus Matt. Matt continued to deny that he was ever a problem.

Finally, Jennifer understood what her female agents meant. Her flipped light switch relieved many viewers, who were starting to worry that this series was about to become another boys’ club protection-styled showing on Bravo.

If this series gets renewed, I need Jennifer to remain in the light. She also needs to cease meddling in her agent’s dramas. But if she must step in, we hope she does so without any favoritism shown, as neutral bosses are life.

We hope to see Jennifer Yeo mentoring Christian Cruz with over-the-top luxurious listings

Christian Cruz is great. In Season 1, Christian transitioned into an assistant role, working for Jennifer as needed. He struggled with real estate, but he remained winning in the background of every conversation, making jokes and uplifting moods with every scene he stepped into.

The show needed Christian, as Matt consumed the inaugural run of this series, making it sometimes difficult to watch. Each time Christian inserted his off-the-wall comments, I forgot about stripper poles and flawed Protestants, if only for a second. Likewise, Christian always said what he was thinking, and his quips were never mean. Instead, his remarks were more observational or sarcastic.

If Christian returns for Season 2, I hope to see Jennifer taking him under her wing. Jennifer stressed in Season 1 that she wanted to mentor her new assistant, so let us take a beat to see Jennifer doing just that.

Instead of sitting down with unaccountable humans, Jennifer can start taking Christian out instead. These two BFFs can hit up luxurious listings, where Jennifer can teach him the ins and outs of listings, stagings, and selling. After, they can get drinks and giggle, making zero of their viewers angry (unless they harbor a hatred for nice things and good times). Do this for a better, kinder plot.

Finally, we hope to see Jennifer Yeo making peace with Tyna Edwards and Paige Steckling

Paige Steckling used to work with Jennifer. And then she left. Malaysia followed, joining Paige at another brokerage. However, Malaysia boomeranged back to Presidio, but upon her return, she had several contracts still underway with Paige, which stressed Jennifer out, as split commissions suck.

At the start of Season 1, Jennifer acknowledged that she and Paige have similar mindsets. Jennifer also admitted her desire to be in a better place with her former agent. But later, Jennifer used her proverbial snowblower (her mouth), blowing all chances of a peace treaty out of the equation.

To give Jennifer credit, she was hurt when Paige left. Loyalty is her thing. However, as Paige noted, she wants both of them to succeed, but Jennifer is not yet on this page.

If Sold on SLC returns for a Season 2, I hope to see Jennifer finally burying this hatchet. My reason for this is twofold. First, Jennifer can buy more bees with honey-like showings. Paige might one day have a client eager to purchase a listing held by an agent at Presidio. But, she might hesitate to reach out should Jennifer continue treating her like the enemy.

Second, Tyna and Paige now work at the same firm. We MUST have Tyna back on this cast. But Tyna might not be willing to film again if it threatens to harm her peace. Therefore, at some point, I hope to see Jennifer making peace with both of these women.

Sold on SLC is streaming on Peacock.
