Throughout Season 3 of The Traitors, we’ve all been roasting Sandoval for his sweaty pits and insanely misguided theories. This week, he’s finally stepped into his own. Dare we say it, but he might have actually been the hero of this episode. He’s starting to put the pieces together, ask the right questions, and miraculously, his singing actually saved the day in The Traitors Season 3, Episode 8, “A B*tch Is Lying.”
Perhaps that just speaks volumes about how unpredictable this show is. After all, we definitely didn’t expect to see Boston Rob get banished at the roundtable last week. It seemed like these players were going to fully let him coast to the end, but now that he’s out of the way, this is literally anybody’s game.
What happened in The Traitors Season 3, Episode 8?

After celebrating the downfall of Boston Rob, the Traitors had to kill a Faithful in a face-to-face murder. Then, a musical mission gave Tom a moment to shine while also giving the audience at home a full-blown headache. By the end of the episode, the players at the roundtable sent another Bravolebrity packing. Keep on reading for all of the tea on Episode 8.
Who got murdered in The Traitors Season 3, Episode 8?

This week, we learned that Chrishell from Selling Sunset fell victim to the Traitors in their face-to-face murder. After mindlessly voting for Tom at the roundtable and being completely wrong in every episode, the Traitors knew they needed to get rid of her. She was too much of a Faithful and was serving zero purpose for their endgame.
With this being the season’s face-to-face murder, you might have expected to see a big, emotional reaction from the Faithful player. They’re finally finding out the identity of the Traitors! Instead, Chrishell just kind of stood there looking confused. In a confessional, she admitted that seeing Carolyn threw her off.
“I wasn’t surprised to see Danielle, but I was shocked to see Carolyn. We’re all idiots. She’s playing the best game,” Chrishell admitted.
Lullabies by Sandoval

After paying tribute to Chrishell, Alan summoned the players for their next mission. If you remember the bird call mission from Season 2, this was basically a more chaotic version of that.
Half of the players got brought out to a spooky dollhouse in the woods while the other players waited in the castle. The players in the dollhouse had to decode nursery rhymes to the players back at the castle.
If you just happened to turn the TV on the idle of this episode, you’d probably think that you were having some sort of neurological emergency. The lullabies were playing in reverse. They had to sing them to the people back at the castle, who would then sing them into a recorder. It was confusing for everyone except for Tom. The renowned vocalist of Tom Sandoval & the Most Extras was born for this.
Tom was able to memorize these weird, backward nursery rhymes and sing them back to the people at the castle. It was cringe, but this mission would not have worked out if it weren’t for his singing. It’s no wonder he claims tickets for his upcoming tour are selling like crazy.
Resurrecting the coffin theory

There was only one shield up for grabs in this mission, and it ended up going to Ciara. Unfortunately for her, the rest of the players were plotting to take her down at the roundtable. A shield can’t protect you from that.
Ivar and Sam, who suddenly have a full-blown alliance, decided to revisit the silly coffin theory. It’s so five episodes ago, but they were still convinced that the Traitors put one of their own in the coffins as a decoy. Since two of the three people in the coffin are already out of the game, that left Ciara as the last possible option.
Meanwhile, there were still questions around the castle about Britney. Dylan was still clinging to Derrick’s parting words that she could be a Traitor. Plus, it’s extra obvious that she and Danielle are in a Big Brother alliance. Everyone was so quick to thwart a potential Housewives alliance, but there’s a much more threatening alliance right in front of them.
Who got banished in The Traitors Season 3, Episode 8?

In a unanimous vote, the players chose to banish Ciara from the game. The decision was based purely on the coffin theory. Now, they can finally put a nail in it. We hope you’re happy, Sam and Ivar.
At the roundtable, you could tell that Ciara could see the writing on the wall. She didn’t put up much of a fight. She has been playing on borrowed time ever since the coffin situation happened. According to Boston Rob, she easily could have gone home back in Episode 4 if he hadn’t hijacked the roundtable.
When Ciara traipsed up to the circle of truth, you couldn’t help but feel kind of bad for her. She didn’t have a single person in her corner, and then she had to watch everyone lose their minds when they found out she was Faithful. Now, Sam and Ivar are going to have to find a new theory.
The Traitors are ready to recruit

That night in the turret, Alan dropped a major bombshell on the Traitors. He told them that they could either murder someone this week or recruit another player to the dark side. That’s a game-changer.
Immediately, Danielle and Carolyn disagreed about what to do. The Big Brother alum wanted to invite another player into the turret in hopes of getting the heat off herself. On the other hand, Carolyn argued that they had already endured too much chaos in the turret this season. After all, this would be their fifth Traitor of the season.
Episode 8 ended with the two Traitors arguing over how to move forward. Should they seduce, or should they murder? We’ll see what they decide next week.
The Traitors Season 3 continues on Peacock, with new episodes dropping every Thursday at 9/8c.
