Summer House fans are devouring all the latest tidbits about Paige DeSorbo’s split from Craig Conover. And as one former couple bit the dust, the focus also shifted back to Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula’s marriage. Because the couple has fended off divorce rumors time and time again since their debut on Summer House.
Kyle and Amanda are the stand-alone couple on Summer House as Season 9 premieres. Not only that but they’ve been married since September 2021. They worked together to build Loverboy, and have had to defend their relationship on camera countless times. And now, it’s time for another round.
Kyle Cooke questions why fans are “not rooting for us?”
“We are doing great,” Amanda told E! News. “Our entire relationship there have been some sort of rumors going on, from me being pregnant to us getting divorced. It seems to be something new every time, but none of them are true. I’m not pregnant, we’re not getting divorced.”
Kyle assured fans that just because he and Amanda cycle through lows, it doesn’t mean that they are heading towards divorce.
“We’re a pretty open book,” the Loverboy shared. “And we are by no means perfect. I think that, for better for worse, we’ve never really held back.”
This couple knows how to navigate reality TV. They’ve put themselves and their relationship out there.
“We’ve shared everything with people. Probably more than we care to share. So, for us to keep something like that a secret where it turns into a rumor is crazy,” Amanda added.
However, Kyle acknowledged that “the rumors sometimes kind of hurt.” He questioned why fans are “just not rooting for us?”
Amanda added, “No, they’re not it turns out.”
The Loveryboy founder agreed that fans are “probably not.” And instead just “want messy reality television.”
He said, “It’s interesting with all the different fan accounts these days, the rumors play a totally different part than they used to.”
Amanda has a different perspective though. She thinks the gossip keeps her and Kyle “on our toes,” and joked, “It keeps us entertained.”
Speaking of quieting rumors, Amanda also wanted to address the endless cycle of pregnancy speculation. She explained that she is not ready to start a family.
“I feel like I’m a child and for me to have a baby would be illegal. Like I’d be a teen mom, it just doesn’t seem right yet. I have to feel like I’m my age and I’m not there. If I got pregnant right now, I’d be afraid to tell my parents,” she joked.
